Motorcyclist dies after crashing into SUV in Oxon Hill, Prince George’s County police say

A 42-year-old man was killed Friday when the motorcycle he was driving slammed into a sport utility vehicle whose driver was making a U-turn in Oxon Hill, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

The victim was identified as Phillip Walker of Medinah Ridge Road in Accokeek, Md. Police said he died at a hospital.

The accident occurred about 7 p.m. at Indian Head Highway and Wilson Bridge Drive. Police said it appears the driver of the SUV, who was not identified, was driving south on Indian Head Highway and tried to turn around and head north. Police said the driver apparently failed to yield to the oncoming motorcycle driven by Walker.

The driver of the SUV was not injured, police said. Authorities said the investigation is continuing and that no charges have been filed. They are asking anyone with information about the crash to call 301-306-5650 or the Crime Solvers line, 1-866-411-8477.
