Murder suspect is sentenced to 55 years

October 7, 2013

A Montgomery County man who fatally stabbed and cut his estranged girlfriend 34 times was sentenced to 55 years in prison Monday.

Martire Fulcar, 32, who fled to Miami after the homicide, where he survived a leap off the roof of a nine-story hotel, had earlier pleaded guilty to murder in the 2012 incident in a stairwell outside the Wheaton apartment of Rocio Morcelo. Montgomery County Circuit Judge Cheryl A. McCally imposed the sentence.
