Northwest man identified as fatal victim in Thursday shooting

D.C. police have identified a fatal gunshot victim found Thursday evening in the 1500 block of Gallatin Place NE as 48-year-old Kevin Lanard James of Northwest Washington.

Police responded to a call for a vehicle accident Thursday at around 7:40 p.m. When they arrived, they found James, suffering from a gunshot wound, inside a BMW. James was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the fatal shooting.
