Plane makes emergency landing at Dulles

February 27

A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing Thursday at Dulles International Airport due to a mechanical issue, airport officials said.

Flight 3370 was scheduled to land at Dulles, but as it approached the airport, officials were notified of a mechanical problem, said Kimberly Gibbs, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Airports Authority. Officials dispatched emergency vehicles to the runway as a precaution, but the plane landed safely and without incident about 5:20 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and airport officials said they did not know the nature of the mechanical problem, Gibbs said.

United Airlines did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
