Police release photo of man wanted in rape near Prince George’s Plaza Metro stop

Police released a photo of a man who is wanted in the rape of a woman near the Prince George’s Plaza Metro stop.

The photo shows a man in a white T-shirt and a brown jacket and jeans as he was exiting the Metro station around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the man followed a woman toward T.J. Maxx clothing store in the 3500 block of East-West Highway. He approached her near a loading-dock area of the store and held a knife to her. Police did not say where he held the knife to the woman.

He stole her wallet and cellphone before raping her, police said, then fled on foot through the Metro stop and into a residential neighborhood behind the station.

Police said the man is between 20 and 30 years old with shoulder-length dreadlocks.
