March 14, 2014

Montgomery County police said they took four people into custody Friday morning after responding to reports of shots fired in a Chevy Chase neighborhood.

No injuries were reported.

Police said they received a call around 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired in the 8400 block of Freyman Drive. When police went to a home in the area they found “a bunch of shell casings,” according to Angela Cruz, a spokeswoman for the police department. She said officers “tried to make contact with the residents inside but were unable to do so.”

A SWAT team was sent to the scene.

The four people taken into custody were facing the possibility of charges, according to Cpl. Rebecca Innocenti, a spokeswoman for the department.
