What sounded like a small explosion closed down a movie theater at Tysons Corner early Sunday morning.
A midnight showing of “Godzilla” was interrupted when someone exploded a small bottle possibly containing dry ice inside a theater early Sunday, Fairfax County police said.
No one was injured during the incident that happened at one of the theaters in the AMC Tysons Corner 16 complex at about 12:15 a.m., said Lucy Caldwell, a police spokeswoman. Emergency dispatchers received a flurry of calls describing the sounds of firecrackers or gunshots which caused upset patrons to flee the theater, she said.
The theater where the incident occurred was closed while the investigation continued early Sunday morning, the police said.
