Shooting in Arlington Friday night

A man was shot Friday night in the 2400 block of Oxford Street in south Arlington, the Arlington police said.

The man, who was in his 30s, was shot after an altercation with another man, police said.

His condition could not be learned immediately.

The assailant apparently fled in a car, authorities said.

Police were trying to determine whether the victim and assailant knew each other.
