May 20, 2014

Six students and two adults were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday morning after a car crashed into a school bus on Pinebrook Road in Landover, Md., police said.

“It appears driver tried to go around stopped bus & struck back end,” according to a tweet from the Prince George’s County police department.

A photo posted by police show the rear, driver-side corner of the bus torn with some minor damage.

The collision occurred around 8:45 a.m., said Corporal Nate Lewis, a spokesman for the county police.

The bus may have been transporting high school students, and it is still unclear where they were heading, Lewis said.
