Two Loudoun County sheriff’s deputies were injured Saturday as they pursued a man who was trying to steal TVs from the Costco in Sterling, authorities said.

The man was apparently fleeing the Costco at Price Cascades Plaza when deputies spotted him about 3:45 p.m., authorities said. As he got into a car, authorities said, he slammed one deputy’s hand in his driver’s side door. Then, as he drove away, the man dragged for about 60 feet another deputy who was trying to grab him through the car’s window, authorities said.

The man also struck a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office car, authorities said.

Both deputies were treated and released from a local hospital, and the suspect got away, authorities said.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s officials asked anyone with information about the case to call Detective W. Promisel at 703-777-0475. They said the suspect was believed to be driving a a 2004-2006 model Acura with New York tags.
