Two masked men try to rob CVS store in Potomac

Montgomery County Police are looking for two men who tried to rob a CVS store in Potomac early Wednesday.

The incident began about 4:14 a.m., police said, when two men entered the 24-hour store in the 7900 block of Tuckerman Lane in the Cabin John shopping center and tried to rob the store. They did not steal anything and ran out of the store.

One of the men was described as being in his 20s and appeared to be wearing a fake beard mask that covered most of his face. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a white insignia, a black hooded sweatshirt with a gray logo, camouflaged pants and black tennis shoes, police said. He was armed with a handgun.

The other man was also believed to be in his 20s and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt that was white on the front and dark on the back and sleeves. He was also wearing blue jeans and a black mask with the eyes cut out, according to police descriptions that were posted on social media.

Some television news reports initially said the men were wearing Halloween masks, but police said they had no such descriptions.
