Two men fatally shot within 14 minutes of each other in Southeast Washington

D.C. police are investigating two incidents in which two men were shot and killed within 14 minutes of each other in Southeast Washington.

One shooting occurred about 11:15 p.m. Monday when a man was fatally shot in the unit block of 55th Street SE near East Capitol Street. He was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.

Fourteen minutes later, a 19-year-old man was fatally shot in the 2600 block of Bowen Road SE. When police arrived, they found Antwone Dwayne Tolson of Southeast Washington suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Police said they had no motive or suspect in either case. As to whether the two incidents are related, police said they do not “have that information at this time,” according to Gwen Crump, a police spokeswoman.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information in the Bowen Road case. Those with information are asked to call 202-727-9099.
