A U.S. Park Police officer was helicoptered to a local hospital after chasing two teens driving a stolen car from D.C. into Prince George’s County, authorities said.

The officer had attempted to pull over a car on the Capital Beltway heading toward Baltimore-Washington Parkway about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Paul Brooks, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police. That started a short car chase that wound up in Landover Hills, Md., near Buchanan Street and 74th Avenue.

The chase transformed into a foot chase when the two suspects bailed from the car. The officer hurt his ankle while chasing the two teens, who were arrested this afternoon, Brooks said.
