Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that killed a woman in Upper Marlboro.
Authorities said a Honda Civic hit the woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday on Route 4 at Water Street.
State Police are trying to determine how the accident happened and if speed was a factor.
The driver, who remained at the scene, had not been charged as of Wednesday morning, police said.
The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, did not have any identification on her, authorities said. Investigators are working to uncover her identity to contact her next of kin.
