D.C. adopt a pet

3Candy, a 9-year-old collie and boxer mix, was surrendered by owners who were moving from their home in Northeast and no longer were able to care for her. She has been made available for adoption through the Washington Humane Society.

The D.C. Animal Shelter, 1201 New York Ave. NE, and the Humane Society shelter (www.washhumane.org), 7319 Georgia Ave. NW, offer animals for adoption. The D.C. Animal Shelter has viewing and adoption hours from noon to 8 p.m. weekdays except Wednesdays and noon to 5 p.m. weekends. Hours at the society’s shelter are noon to 7 p.m. daily. Photos of other available animals can be seen at www.washhumane.org. For information, call the D.C. shelter, 202-576-6664, or the society’s shelter, 202-723-5730.
