Pets surrendered: Q St. SW, unit block, Feb. 2. Responding to a complaint about dogs left outdoors without shelter, a Humane Society officer met with an owner of two pit bull puppies. The owner decided to surrender the dogs.
Dog’s death investigated: Montana Ave., NE, 1400 block, Feb. 3. The body of a 5-year-old Yorkie that had died of unknown causes was taken to a forensic animal specialist.
Adoptable dog: New York Ave., 1200 block, Nov. 5. A 1-year-old stray was taken to the shelter.

Dog seeks food: Massachusetts and H streets, NE, Feb. 4. A woman found a 1-year-old dachshund eating trash in a parking garage and took it to the league.
Pet evicted: Mount Rainer, Allison St., 2900 block, Feb. 5. A woman took a 6-year-old poodle mix to the league because her building no longer allows dogs.
Free monthly clinic: Oglethorpe St. NW, unit block, Feb. 6. The league spayed and neutered 36 feral cats.
