Homeless cat family: Gault Pl. NE, 4000 block, Aug. 31. A Humane Society officer impounded a cat and her two 3-week-old kittens after their owner moved out and left them in an alley.
Dog impounded: Clay St. NE, 4500 block, Sept. 2. D.C. police called the Humane Society about a sick dog on the porch of a suspect’s property. A Humane Society officer impounded the 5-month-old pit bull.
Kitten uninjured: Atlantic St. SE, 600 block, Sept. 3. A Humane Society officer responded to a report about a kitten that was kicked down a flight of stairs. The 5-week-old kitten was taken to a veterinarian, who diagnosed an upper respiratory infection.
Adoptable dog: Field Pl. NE, 5800 block, June 27. A 2-year-old Rottweiler mix was found as a stray.

Lost kitten: Hyattsville, Queens Chapel Rd., 2400 block, Aug. 30. A man found a 4-week-old kitten in a parking lot and took it to the league.
Dog is given up: Roxboro Pl. NW, 600 block, Aug. 31. A woman relinquished a 10-week-old Jack Russell terrier to the league.
Owners move: Temple Hills, Fisher Rd., 5900 block, Aug. 31. A couple surrendered two 7-month-old cats to the league.
