HOMICIDES

H St., 5000 block, 11:12 p.m. Sept. 25. Wayne Young, 57, of Washington, and an unidentified person were found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Young was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other person was admitted to another hospital.

ROBBERIES

Benning Rd., 3900 block, 5:05 to 5:10 a.m. Sept. 25. A man approached a male pedestrian from behind and pushed him to the ground. A cellphone and bag were taken.

Benning Rd., 4000 block, 11:47 a.m. Sept. 23. Three people approached a male pedestrian. One put him in a headlock while the other two searched his pockets. The robbers took property and fled on foot. Two arrests were made.

Brentwood Rd., 1300 block, 9:35 to 9:37 p.m. Sept. 25. A man approached a male pedestrian and demanded property at knifepoint. The robber took a cellphone and other property, then fled on foot.

Channing St. and Queens Chapel Rd., 5:24 a.m. Sept. 22. A man approached a male pedestrian outside a nightclub and demanded property at gunpoint. With the help of an accomplice, the robber forced the pedestrian to the ground and beat him. The robbers took a cellphone, wallet, debit card, cash and house keys. The pedestrian was treated for cuts at Providence Hospital.

Clay Terrace, 5300 block, 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. Sept. 23. Three people approached a male who was smoking PCP. They beat him, and property was taken. The assailants fled on foot. The assaulted male was treated for injuries at Howard University Hospital.

Eads St., 4500 block, 7 to 9:19 p.m. Sept. 22. An acquaintance approached a male and female at a residence. He took a cellphone at gunpoint and fled in a car.

Meade St., 4800 block, 3:40 p.m. Sept. 23. Two male youths approached three people on a school basketball court and demanded property. One implied that he was armed with a gun. The youths took a cellphone and shirt, then fled on foot.

Meigs Pl., 1200 block, 9:15 a.m. Sept. 20. Two males approached a male in an alley, punched him and forced him to the ground. They took a watch and fled on foot.

Michigan Ave., 1100 block, 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 22. Two people approached a male pedestrian in a park, punched him and forced him to the ground. They took property and fled on foot.

Minnesota and Nannie Helen Burroughs avenues, 10:35 p.m. Sept. 22. Eight males attacked a male pedestrian, injuring his head, and took property.

Mount Olivet Rd., 1200 block, 11:06 p.m. Sept. 25. Five people approached a bicyclist in a parking area, then struck and kicked him. The robbers took a mountain bike and keys. The bicyclist was treated for injuries at Howard University Hospital.

Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave., 4800 block, 5:15 to 5:17 p.m. Sept. 21. Two males left a bus and approached a pedestrian. One male choked the pedestrian until he lost consciousness while the other took property. Both fled on foot.

Peabody St., 400 block, 10:29 p.m. Sept. 24. Two people armed with guns approached a male pedestrian. One struck the pedestrian and forced him to the ground while the other searched his pockets. They took a backpack and other property, then fled on foot.

Rhode Island Ave., 400 block, 3:45 to 3:50 a.m. Sept. 23. A man gave a window clerk a note at a gas station. The note demanded money and said that the man was armed with a gun. No property was reported taken. The man fled on foot.

Saratoga Ave., 1300 block, 12:20 to 12:30 a.m. Sept. 21. Two males approached a pedestrian. One male choked the pedestrian while the other took property from him. An arrest was made.

South Dakota Ave., 4600 block, 6 to 6:05 a.m. Sept. 20. A man on a bicycle approached a female at a bus stop. He got off the bike, hit her head, knocked her to the ground and took her purse. He fled on the bicycle.

Sixth and H streets, 5:15 to 10:14 p.m. Sept. 25. A male shoved a female at a bus stop, took property from her and fled on foot with a male accomplice.

Sixth St., 1100 block, 10:14 a.m. Sept. 20. A man approached a deaf female pedestrian in an alley. He demanded her purse by gesturing. She initially refused. The man then made a fist in a threatening manner, and the pedestrian surrendered her purse. The robber fled on foot.

12th St., 3500 block, 2:44 a.m. Sept. 23. A youth at a restaurant gave a clerk a note that demanded money. The clerk told the youth that police were outside. The youth fled on foot.

15th St.,, 200 block, 10:40 to 10:43 a.m. Sept. 23. Two males with handguns entered a convenience store and ordered a clerk to open a cash register. The robbers took money and cigarettes, then fled on foot.

19th St., 100 block, 8 to 8:03 p.m. Sept. 21. A man with a knife took a purse from a female pedestrian.

21st St. and Benning Rd., 6:11 p.m. Sept. 21. A man and another person approached a male pedestrian in an alley and demanded money. The pedestrian complied. The robbers fled on foot. Police searched the area and found a suspect. An arrest was made.

4oth St., 300 block, 5:38 p.m. Sept. 23. Two male youths snatched a cellphone from a female pedestrian in a parking lot.

48th St., 1100 block, 10:25 to 10:26 p.m. Sept. 24. A man wearing a ski mask approached a female pedestrian from behind. He punched her, knocked her down, took property and fled on foot.

50th St., 300 block, 1:33 p.m. Sept. 25. A female snatched property from a male pedestrian and fled on foot.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Blaine St., 3800 block, 10:48 a.m. Sept. 20. Property was taken from a residence There was no sign of forced entry. A front door might have been unlocked.

Capitol Ave., 1700 block, 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 24. A flat-screen television was taken from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

E St., 1300 block, 11:39 p.m. Sept. 22. Four laptop computers were taken from a school. Six room door windows were smashed. Two males were arrested in connection with burglary and destruction of property.

Eastern Ave., 6400 block, noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 24. Property was taken from a tool shed entered by removing a door hinge.

K St., 200 block, 7:38 a.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

Kenilworth Ave., 1200 block, 8:19 p.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from a church entered by breaking a side window.

Meade St., 4200 block, 10:25 a.m. Sept. 19 to 10:25 a.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from a residence entered by breaking a rear-door window.

Minnesota Ave., 4300 block, 3:59 p.m. Sept. 22. Property was taken from a bedroom entered by force. The room was ransacked.

Monroe St., 2000 block, 9:21 a.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a garage.

Morse St., 1100 block, 11:27 a.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from a building.

Neal St., 1200 block, 1:20 p.m. Sept. 21. A flat-screen TV and a Sony video game system were taken from a residence entered by breaking rear windows.

Owen Pl., 1100 block, 6:24 p.m. Sept. 23. A woman knocked on an apartment door. When a female occupant opened the door, the woman said that the occupant owed her money, then punched her face and scratched and bit her. A male accomplice entered the residence. The female assailant then took a computer and fled with the male.

P St., 1-100 block, 8:29 a.m. to 6:29 p.m. Sept. 20. Property was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked second-story window.

S St., 2200 block, 8 to 11:05 p.m. Sept. 20. A motorcycle was taken from a shed entered by breaking a lock.

First St., 1000 block, 8:33 p.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a construction site. Two people were arrested.

Third St., 600 block, 8 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from a building.

Fifth St., 900 block, 12:53 to 3:46 p.m. Sept. 24. Property was destroyed at a residence.

Ninth St., 500 block, 5 p.m. Sept. 22 to 11 a.m. Sept. 23. A laptop computer was taken from a residence entered through an open window.

21st St., 700 block, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 19. Property was taken from a residence.

49th St., 300 block, 8:45 p.m. Sept. 23. Computers were taken from a school classroom entered by breaking a door.

49th Pl, 600 block, 5:35 p.m. Sept. 23. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

53rd St., 200 block, Sept. 23 or 24.. Three male youths took a laptop computer and television from a residence.

ROBBERIES

Chesapeake St., 3900 block, 3:22 p.m. to 4:28 p.m. Sept. 25. A male teenager snatched a person’s cellphone in a school hallway then fled to a stairwell. The cellphone owner chased him and knocked the cellphone from his hand. The property was recovered.

Connecticut Ave., 2600 block, 11:28 p.m. Sept. 22. A person robbed a pedestrian of a wallet and a cellphone at gunpoint.

Fairmont St., 1400 block, 5:42 a.m. Sept. 24. One person took money from another person at an apartment and fled.

Georgia Ave., 3700 block, 11:50 p.m. Sept. 20. A male snatched money from a female pedestrian’s hand, then fled to a store. An arrest was made.

Georgia Ave., 4800 block, 9:01 p.m. Sept. 24. Two males wearing masks robbed a grocery store at gunpoint.

Georgia Ave., 7700 block, 1:55 a.m. Sept. 25. A taxi driver took two females to a destination, then a person approached the vehicle, opened a back door and let the females out. The person got into the back seat of the car, assaulted the driver, took money and fled.

Harvard St., 1600 block, 6:56 p.m. Sept. 25. A male approached a female pedestrian from behind, then snatched property from her hand.

Illinois Ave. and Kennedy St., 6:58 p.m. Sept. 21. A gunman threatened to kill a person while demanding his cellphone. The male did not comply, and the robber left. No injuries were reported.

Irving St., 700 block, 4:18 p.m. Sept. 24. A gunman approached a female while she was leaving her vehicle and took the vehicle.

K St., 100 block, 3:30 a.m. Sept. 23. A group of people assaulted and robbed a male pedestrian.

Kenyon St., 1200 block, 1:09 a.m. Sept. 21. A person approached a pedestrian from behind, then snatched property from the pedestrian.

Newton Pl., 600 block, 4:30 p.m. Sept. 24. A gunman robbed a female of a bike. The robber then lost control of the gun and dropped it. The female picked it up, and the robber fled without the bike.

P St., 900 block, 12:23 p.m. Sept. 22. Two men approached a male pedestrian from behind, knocked him to the ground and carried him to an alley, where they robbed him of property.

Perry Pl., 1400 block, 3:20 a.m. Sept. 23. Two males robbed a male pedestrian of cash. The male was pushed to the ground.

Princeton Pl., 600 block, 9:25 p.m. Sept. 24. A gunman robbed a pedestrian of property.

U St., 1200 block, 12:38 p.m. Sept. 24. A person entered a dental office, assaulted an employee and fled with a camera.

U St., 1300 block, 12:03 to 3:45 p.m. Sept. 22. A person took credit cards from a female’s purse in a restaurant.

Seventh St., 1100 block, 2:03 a.m. Sept. 23. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of an iPhone.

Ninth St. and Constitution Ave., 1:45 to 1:47 p.m. Sept. 25. A person snatched property from a female while she was sleeping on a sidewalk.

Ninth St., 1900 block, 3:10 p.m. Sept. 23. A male shoved a person from behind, then snatched an iPad from him.

11th and M streets, 2 p.m. Sept. 24. Two men assaulted and robbed a male at a bus stop.

11th St.,1100 block, 1:30 a.m. Sept. 20. Two people assaulted two pedestrians after they refused to purchase beer from them. One person gave up cash.

13th and L streets, 12:02 p.m. Sept. 25. A person snatched a jacket from a female.

13th and Kenyon streets, 1:26 a.m. Sept. 25. A person on a bicycle tried to snatch a pedestrian’s purse. Nothing was reported taken.

13th St., 1700 block, 11:07 p.m. Sept. 24. A group of males assaulted a male pedestrian and took his cellphone.

13th St., 400 block, 2 p.m. Sept. 22. A male was robbed at gunpoint of a wallet and a watch in the basement of an apartment building.

14th and Quincy streets, 3:56 a.m. Sept. 22. A man approached a pedestrian from behind, then stabbed him in the arm with a knife during an attempt to take property. The assailant then fled.

14th and U streets, 1:20 a.m. Sept. 23. A female and accomplices assaulted a female. One person tried unsuccessfully to take property from the female.

14th St., 5900 block, 12:17 a.m. Sept. 20. A person drove a female acquaintance to work, then a man approached them and questioned them about their relationship. The driver responded and drove away. The man then forced the female to the ground and slapped her face. He took her cellphone and a set of earphones.

14th St., 6000 block, 11:25 to 11:26 p.m. Sept. 24. A man snatched a female pedestrian’s purse.

16th St., 1800 block, 7:34 p.m. Sept. 22. Two males pushed a male to the ground, then took property from his pockets.

17th St., 2400 block, 1 a.m. Sept. 25. Two males approached a group of a pedestrians, then one showed a handgun and demanded property. They complied, and the robbers fled in a vehicle.

18th St., 2400 block, 1:45 a.m. Sept. 22. A person snatched an pedestrian’s iPhone. An arrest was made.

20th St., 1500 block, 11:20 p.m. Sept. 19. A group of males approached pedestrian, who was then assaulted and robbed of property.

Quebec Pl., 3100 block, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

R St., 900 block, 8:15 a.m. to 7:48 p.m. Sept. 25. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking the front door by using a wooden plank.

Rhode Island Ave., 1100 block, 4:05 p.m. Sept. 24. A man entered a residence by breaking a window, then fled when a resident confronted him.

Ridge St., 400 block, 8:45 to 10:34 p.m. Sept. 20. A residence was entered by breaking a rear window and ransacked. Nothing was reported taken.

S St., 1800 block, 6:50 a.m. to 6:27 p.m. Sept. 25. Property was stolen from a residence entered by removing an air conditioner from a window.

A St., 4400 block, 6:39 p.m. Sept. 21. A person attempted to take an iPad from another person by force in a residence. The iPad owner resisted and was assisted by two witnesses. An arrest was made.

Alabama Ave., 1500 block, 8:09 p.m. Sept. 25. A male struck and kicked a youth in a parking lot, then took cash and fled on foot. The youth was treated for injuries at Children’s Hospital.

Anacostia Rd., 300 block, 1:10 a.m. Sept. 23. A male with a handgun approached a male motorist as he was leaving his vehicle in a garage. A wallet was taken.

Atlantic St., 300 block, 3:42 a.m. Sept. 22. Two men approached a female pedestrian. One demanded property and punched her. The robbers took property and fled in a vehicle.

Benning Rd., 5000 block, 3:51 a.m. Sept. 23. Two males, one with a handgun, approached a male pedestrian. The gunman struck the pedestrian with the gun and forced him to the ground. The robbers took property and fled on foot.

Congress St., 1300 block, 10:51 a.m. Sept. 24. Two males were doing landscaping in the back area of a residence when they were approached by at least two robbers. The males were robbed at gunpoint of coins, a wallet, a cellphone, a weed trimmer, a chain saw and leaf blower. At least one male was assaulted. The landscaping equipment, a handgun and ammunition were recovered at another residence in the area. Suspects were detained by police.

Congress St., 1400 block, 6:09 p.m. Sept. 20. A female youth threatened a female pedestrian. A male chased the pedestrian. He struck her in the face and forced her to the ground. A group of people kicked the pedestrian. A cellphone, shoes and a jacket were taken. The assailants fled on foot. The pedestrian was treated for injuries at Howard University Hospital.

Good Hope Rd., 1700 block, 8:50 to 8:54 p.m. Sept. 23. Two men approached a pizza deliveryman as he was getting out of his vehicle during a delivery. They took money from him at gunpoint and fled on foot.

Good Hope Rd., 2300 block, 3:45 to 3:50 p.m. Sept. 20. Four people pushed a male pedestrian to the ground. A cellphone and shoes were taken.

Good Hope Rd., 2500 block, 5:20 to 5:25 p.m. Sept. 24. A gunman demanded property from a male as he was leaving a fast-food restaurant. The robber took property, then fled on foot.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 1900 block, 8:30 to 8:32 a.m. Sept. 23. A man approached a male from behind at a bus stop, implied he was armed with a weapon and took his wallet.

Minnesota and Pennsylvania avenues, 7:17 a.m. Sept. 22. Two men approached a pedestrian in front of a gas station. One showed a knife and demanded money. The pedestrian gave up cash.

Minnesota Ave, 1800 block, 2:41 a.m. Sept. 22. A male approached a female at a bus stop and demanded her bag. She thought he was holding a weapon under his clothing and gave up property.

Morris Rd., 1300 block, 8 to 8:02 a.m. Sept. 21. A man followed a female pedestrian from a bus stop, pulled her into a building entrance and forced her to the ground. The robber took her purse, then fled on foot. The purse was recovered less than a block away. The pedestrian was treated for injuries at Howard University Hospital.

Naylor Rd., 2500 block, 5:22 a.m. Sept. 25. A man approached a male pedestrian from behind and demanded property. The pedestrian complied. The robber fled on foot.

Naylor Rd., 2700 block, 5:01 p.m. Sept. 24. Two male youths approached a male pedestrian from behind. One youth grabbed him by the neck while the other showed a handgun. An iPod was taken.

Naylor Rd., 3000 block, 3:32 a.m. Sept. 20. Five males robbed a male pedestrian of property at gunpoint.

Pomeroy Rd., 2500 block, 6:25 to 6:28 p.m. Sept. 15. A person with a gun took a bike from a female.

Sumner Rd., 1200 block, 5:18 to 5:20 p.m. Sept. 21. A male snatched a cellphone from a female pedestrian, then fled.

14th St., 500 block, 8:35 to 8:37 p.m. Sept. 22. Two males approached a female pedestrian. One showed a gun and demanded property. The pedestrian gave up a wallet.

37th St., 200 block, 10 a.m. Sept. 18. A masked male with a gun robbed a female of a cellphone and keys at residence.

M St., 1600 block, 4:20 p.m. Sept. 21 to 8 a.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from the office trailer of a construction site entered by pulling bars off an office window.

Oakwood St., 500 block, 12:30 p.m. Sept. 12 to 3 p.m. Sept. 19. Property was stolen from a residence. There were no signs of forced entry.

Ridge Rd., 600 block, 7 p.m. Sept. 20 to 8:15 a.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a residence entered by removing glass panes from a rear patio door.

Savannah St., 1300 block, 2 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 22. Property was taken from an office building.

W St., 1600 block, 3:10 to 6:54 p.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked balcony door.

13th St., 700 block, 8 p.m. Sept. 24 to 8:40 a.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from a public housing building entered by forcing a front door.

46th St., 600 block, noon to 12:15 a.m. Sept. 23. A television was taken from a residence entered through an open balcony door.

Southwest

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

I St., 200 block, 7:21 p.m. Sept. 25. Police approached a person while he was sitting in a vehicle. The occupant was wanted by authorities in connection with a police case. When police tried to make contact with him, he fled into a residence through a rear door. An arrest was made.

I St., 500 block, 10:45 a.m. to 2:17 p.m. Sept. 22. The words “Dead Man” were found written in the blood on a sidewalk near a bus stop. Police then discovered a trail of blood that led to a broken window of an office building. Nothing was reported taken.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 4600 block, 3:27 p.m. Sept. 24. A TV was stolen from a residence.

Benning Rd., 5000 block, 3:51 a.m. Sept. 23. Two males, one with a handgun, approached a male pedestrian. The gunman struck the pedestrian with the gun and forced him to the ground. The robbers took property and fled on foot.

Congress St., 1300 block, 10:51 a.m. Sept. 24. Two males were doing landscaping in the back area of a residence when they were approached by at least two robbers. The males were robbed at gunpoint of coins, a wallet, a cellphone, a weed trimmer, a chain saw and leaf blower. At least one male was assaulted. The landscaping equipment, a handgun and ammunition were recovered at another residence in the area. Suspects were detained by police.

Congress St., 1400 block, 6:09 p.m. Sept. 20. A female youth threatened a female pedestrian. A male chased the pedestrian. He struck her in the face and forced her to the ground. A group of people kicked the pedestrian. A cellphone, shoes and a jacket were taken. The assailants fled on foot. The pedestrian was treated for injuries at Howard University Hospital.

Good Hope Rd., 1700 block, 8:50 to 8:54 p.m. Sept. 23. Two men approached a pizza deliveryman as he was getting out of his vehicle during a delivery. They took money from him at gunpoint and fled on foot.

Good Hope Rd., 2300 block, 3:45 to 3:50 p.m. Sept. 20. Four people pushed a male pedestrian to the ground. A cellphone and shoes were taken.

Good Hope Rd., 2500 block, 5:20 to 5:25 p.m. Sept. 24. A gunman demanded property from a male as he was leaving a fast-food restaurant. The robber took property, then fled on foot.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 1900 block, 8:30 to 8:32 a.m. Sept. 23. A man approached a male from behind at a bus stop, implied he was armed with a weapon and took his wallet.

Minnesota and Pennsylvania avenues, 7:17 a.m. Sept. 22. Two men approached a pedestrian in front of a gas station. One showed a knife and demanded money. The pedestrian gave up cash.

Minnesota Ave, 1800 block, 2:41 a.m. Sept. 22. A male approached a female at a bus stop and demanded her bag. She thought he was holding a weapon under his clothing and gave up property.

Morris Rd., 1300 block, 8 to 8:02 a.m. Sept. 21. A man followed a female pedestrian from a bus stop, pulled her into a building entrance and forced her to the ground. The robber took her purse, then fled on foot. The purse was recovered less than a block away. The pedestrian was treated for injuries at Howard University Hospital.

Naylor Rd., 2500 block, 5:22 a.m. Sept. 25. A man approached a male pedestrian from behind and demanded property. The pedestrian complied. The robber fled on foot.

Naylor Rd., 2700 block, 5:01 p.m. Sept. 24. Two male youths approached a male pedestrian from behind. One youth grabbed him by the neck while the other showed a handgun. An iPod was taken.

Naylor Rd., 3000 block, 3:32 a.m. Sept. 20. Five males robbed a male pedestrian of property at gunpoint.

Pomeroy Rd., 2500 block, 6:25 to 6:28 p.m. Sept. 15. A person with a gun took a bike from a female.

Sumner Rd., 1200 block, 5:18 to 5:20 p.m. Sept. 21. A male snatched a cellphone from a female pedestrian, then fled.

14th St., 500 block, 8:35 to 8:37 p.m. Sept. 22. Two males approached a female pedestrian. One showed a gun and demanded property. The pedestrian gave up a wallet.

37th St., 200 block, 10 a.m. Sept. 18. A masked male with a gun robbed a female of a cellphone and keys at residence.

Alabama Ave., 4000 block, 7:03 a.m. Sept. 20. Property was taken from a residence entered through a window.

Butler St., 1500 block, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19. Property was taken from an apartment.

Central Ave., 5200 block, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 25. An intruder entered a house through a window. Property was damaged.

Elvans Rd., 2500 block, 4:23 p.m. Sept. 22. Property was taken from a residence.

Elvans Rd., 2500 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 21 to 12:48 p.m. Sept. 23. Property was taken from a residence.

M St., 1600 block, 4:20 p.m. Sept. 21 to 8 a.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from the office trailer of a construction site entered by pulling bars off an office window.

Oakwood St., 500 block, 12:30 p.m. Sept. 12 to 3 p.m. Sept. 19. Property was stolen from a residence. There were no signs of forced entry.

Ridge Rd., 600 block, 7 p.m. Sept. 20 to 8:15 a.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a residence entered by removing glass panes from a rear patio door.

Savannah St., 1300 block, 2 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 22. Property was taken from an office building.

W St., 1600 block, 3:10 to 6:54 p.m. Sept. 21. Property was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked balcony door.

13th St., 700 block, 8 p.m. Sept. 24 to 8:40 a.m. Sept. 25. Property was taken from a public housing building entered by forcing a front door.

46th St., 600 block, noon to 12:15 a.m. Sept. 23. A television was taken from a residence entered through an open balcony door.
