HOMICIDES

50th Pl., 500 block, 11:05 p.m. Sept. 27. Tyrell Swann, 23, of Washington was found on the ground with a stab wound. Swann was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A man, 22, was arrested.

ROBBERIES

Bladensburg Rd., 2300 block, 2:50 to 2:52 p.m. Sept. 30. A man approached a male pedestrian and demanded his shoes and cellphone. The pedestrian refused. The robber stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife. The pedestrian removed his shoes and gave them to the robber, who fled on foot. The pedestrian was treated at Washington Hospital Center.

Florida Ave., 1000 block, 9:54 p.m. Oct. 2. Two female youths entered a convenience store and brought items to a cash register. One of the youths pointed a handgun at a clerk. The youths took cigarettes and candy and fled on foot.

Franklin St., 1400 block, 7:48 to 7:50 p.m. Sept. 28. A man approached a male pedestrian from behind and demanded property, then showed a serrated kitchen knife. Property was taken. The robber fled on foot.

H St., 100 block., 2:51 a.m. Sept. 27. A male approached a female who was seated on a sidewalk. He showed a knife and demanded a wallet. The female shouted for help. The robber snatched her purse and fled on foot.

Hunt Pl., 4300 block, 4:28 p.m. Sept. 28. Three men approached a person from behind in a parking area. One man demanded money at gunpoint. The person started to run, then was sprayed with a substance. The men fled.

Hunt St., 5000 block, 7:24 p.m. Oct. 2. A male planned to buy two iPhones listed for sale online. When he went to meet the seller, two men shook him and demanded his bag. A wallet, cash and a debit card were taken.

Kearny St., 1200 block, 9:10 to 9:12 p.m. Oct. 1. A male youth approached a male and engaged him in conversation. The youth then snatched a cellphone from the male’s hand and fled on foot.

Lexington Pl., 600 block, 10:49 p.m. Sept. 29. Three people approached a male pedestrian. The pedestrian ran, then tripped and fell. One person threatened him with a knife, and the robbers took a wallet and fled on foot.

Lincoln Rd., 1900 block, 7:34 p.m. Sept. 29. Two males pushed a pizza deliveryman off a motor scooter. One of them fled on the scooter.

Michigan Ave., 900 block, 12:56 a.m. Sept. 30. Two males approached a male pedestrian who was using headphones. One stood in front of the pedestrian and shouted. The other punched him in the head. The pedestrian fell, and the robbers took property and left.

Rhode Island Ave, 800 block, 11:35 to 11:38 p.m. Sept. 29. A male bicyclist snatched a cellphone from a pedestrian while the pedestrian was making a call.

Ninth and I streets, 11:20 p.m. Oct. 1. A male approached two people and took their purses at knifepoint. He cut one woman’s wrist with a knife.

10th St., 3900 block, 8:05 a.m. Sept. 26 to 8:05 a.m. Sept. 27. A person approached a male at a tennis court and asked for a cigarette. The person then tried unsuccessfully to rob the male of property at gunpoint.

11th and I streets, 1:25 to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 28. A male agreed to meet a seller after seeing an online ad for a cellphone. Two people met him at a location and offered to make the sale. As he pulled out his money, one hit him. Cash was taken. The robbers fled on foot.

18th Pl., 200 block, 8:39 p.m. Sept. 28. A man approached a female at a bus stop and pointed an object at her. He took her purse, iPhone, debit card, books and a wallet containing cash.

19th St. and Lyman Pl., 7 p.m. Sept. 27. A group of five or six youths approached a male from behind, pushed him to the ground and struck him. A bag was taken.

20th St., 3000 block, 9:25 to 9:27 p.m. Sept. 30. A man with a knife approached a female pedestrian and took her purse.

22nd and East Capitol streets, 12:01 to 12:05 a.m. Sept. 30. Property was snatched from a person leaving a concert at RFK Stadium.

42nd St., 1oo block, 2 a.m. Sept. 29. A man, 22, went to a police station in connection with a warrant charging him with robbery. He was arrested. The warrant was issued by Metro police.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Banneker Dr., 3100 block, 5:13 p.m. Sept. 30. Property was taken from a residence.

Bladensburg Rd., 1100 block, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 to 7:30 a.m. Sept. 27. Property was taken from a convenience store entered by breaking the bars and glass of a side window.

Capitol Ave., 1900 block, noon to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a residence entered through an open, rear, second-story window. The residence was ransacked.

Douglas St., 1700 block, 11:17 a.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a residence entered by breaking a door.

G St., 600 block, 10:30 a.m. to 7:50 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a building. A rear glass door was broken, and a rear fence was tampered with.

I St., 1900 block, 9 a.m. Sept. 30 to 9:13 p.m. Oct. 2. Property was taken from a residence entered by prying open the front door.

Just St., 4900 block, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27. Property was taken from a residence. A basement window was pried open, and a door was found ajar.

K St., 500 block, 9:40 a.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a government building entered through an unlocked side door.

Kenilworth Ave., 1000 block, 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a residence entered through a broken front window.

L St., 1 to 100 block, 8:45 a.m. Oct. 2. Property was taken from a construction site.

Meigs Pl., 1200 block, 5:22 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a building entered in an unknown manner.

Montana Ave., 1600 block, 7 to 8 a.m. Sept. 26. Property was taken from a residence.

Myrtle Ave., 2800 block, 11 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Sept. 28. Two laptop computers, cash, jewelry and a baseball bat were taken from a residence entered through a side window.

Otis St., 1700 block, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a residence entered through a rear door.

Rhode Island Ave., 1400 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 28 to 8 a.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a service station entered by forcing a garage door.

Fifth St., 700 block, 6 p.m. Sept. 29 to 2:23 p.m. Sept. 30. Property was taken from a residence entered through an open rear window.

Seventh St., 3100 block, noon to 9:12 p.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a bedroom of a residence entered through an unlocked window.

21st. Pl., 1100 block, 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 29. Two televisions, an iPad and a laptop computer were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

24th St., 700 block, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 28 to 9:41 a.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a community center entered by forcing a rear window.

48th Pl., 900 block, 3:25 a.m. Oct. 1. An attempt was made to take copper piping, wire and a black bag containing construction tools from a residence, which was entered by prying a board off the front door. Three arrests were made.

58th St., 200 block, 8:12 p.m. Oct. 1. Two people found a female stranger in their residence. The back door had been forced open. An arrest was made.

HOMICIDES

Georgia Ave., 7400 block, 2:29 p.m. Sept. 30. Lamar Michael Fonville, 29, was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Fonville was pronounced dead at the scene.

ROBBERIES

Arkansas Ave., 4600 block, 1:09 a.m. Sept. 29. A taxi driver picked up a passenger, who then showed a knife, grabbed the driver by the neck and took a wallet and cash.

Euclid St., 1700 block, 8 p.m. Sept. 29. A group of people assaulted a pedestrian.

Georgia Ave., 2900 block, 2:31 p.m. Sept. 27. A male teenager on a bicycle snatched a a cellphone from a female pedestrian while she was using it.

Georgia Ave., 4800 block, 1:08 a.m. Sept. 29. A male entered a vehicle at a drive-through ATM area, then demanded money from the motorist. A struggle ensued, and he cut the motorist several times with a sharp weapon and took cash. The assailant fled in another vehicle.

Georgia Ave., 5400 block, 2:46 a.m. Sept. 29. A group of people approached two pedestrians, who were then assaulted with a wooden stick. One pedestrian was stabbed in the chest and leg, and property was taken from the other person.

Hanover Pl., 1-99 block, 8:25 p.m. Sept. 29. Two people person got out of a vehicle in an alley and approached two motorists in another vehicle. One person opened a door, and the motorists were assaulted. One motorist drove the vehicle from the alley and discovered that his cellphone and wallet had been taken from his pocket during the assault. Arrests were made.

Indiana Ave., 400 block, 2 p.m. Oct. 2. A person was arrested in connection with a police investigation.

Irving St., 1100 block, 9:20 p.m. Sept. 30. A man walked past a pedestrian, then approached him with a handgun and ordered him to empty his pockets. The pedestrian gave up an iPod, a cellphone and cash.

Massachusetts Ave., 1800 block, 8:45 p.m. Sept. 30. Two males approached a person on a scooter, and one showed a handgun. The scooter was taken.

N St., 900 block, 7:16 a.m. Sept. 29. A person approached a pedestrian behind his residence and demanded money. The robber stabbed the person in the chest and fled. Nothing was reported taken.

O St., 1-99 block, 3:28 p.m. Sept. 29. A person pushed a pedestrian against a wall in an alley, then took cash from his pockets. An arrest was made.

P St., 700 block, 8:20 p.m. Sept. 29. A group of male teenagers assaulted and robbed a male pedestrian.

P St., 3200 block, 9:05 a.m. Sept. 27. A person approached a male at a religious institution and asked for money. The male was assaulted after refusing to comply.

S St., 1100 block, 8 a.m. Sept. 30. A person on a bicycle threatened a pedestrian and demanded property. The pedestrian complied.

Spring Rd., 1400 block, 12:01 a.m. Sept. 30. Two men on bicycles approached a pedestrian, then assaulted and robbed him.

Wisconsin Ave., 2200 block, 3:03 p.m. Sept. 28. A person accused a pedestrian of stepping on his foot, then pushed him while another robber stood behind him. The pedestrian later noticed that his wallet had been taken.

Third and R streets, 10:03 p.m. Oct. 2. A man approached a person from behind, put an object to his back, grabbed him by his neck and demanded cash. The person complied.

Fourth and H streets, 2:33 a.m. Oct. 2. A man entered a cab and asked to be taken to a destination. Afterward, he showed a knife and demanded money from the driver.

13th St. and Missouri Ave., 4:15 to 4:28 p.m. Oct. 2. Three people passed a pedestrian, then one snatched the person’s cellphone while he was using it. A witness allowed the pedestrian to use her cellphone to call police. The group was stopped, and an arrest was made. The cellphone was not recovered.

13th and Lamont streets, 2:40 a.m. Sept. 30. A male approached two people from behind, then grabbed one person by her hair, threatened to stab her and demanded property. They both complied.

14th St., 1700 block, 8:51 to 9 p.m. Oct. 1. A male entered a restaurant and snatched money from an employee’s hands.

14th St., 3100 block, 6:20 p.m. Oct. 2. Two people approached a pedestrian while he was listening to his iPod. Property was snatched from his hand. An arrest was made.

15th St., 1300 block, 5:54 p.m. Oct. 2. A male forced a female acquaintance onto the ground, then took property from her bra.

Aspen St., 600 block, 8:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Sept. 28. An area was burglarized.

Clifton St., 1200 block, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing the front door.

Connecticut Ave., 4500 block, 8:08 a.m. Sept. 28 to 8 a.m. Sept. 30. Property was stolen from an area entered through an unlocked door.

Euclid St., 800 block, 7:43 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front window.

HuideKoper Pl. , 2300 block, 12:25 to 12:45 a.m. Sept. 30. A female entered her residence and heard noise from the rear door area. She discovered an intruder had tried to take two TVs.

Jefferson St., 1300 block, 9:20 a.m. to 3:02 p.m. Oct. 2. An area was burglarized.

Morgan St., 200 block, 7:35 a.m. Sept. 27. Property was taken from a residence.

New Jersey Ave., 1100 block, 9:44 to 10:10 p.m. Sept. 30. Two people entered a school through a window, then broke a window of a classroom door and tried to take two computers. Arrests were made.

Quincy St., 1200 block, 7:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing the rear door.

S St., 200 block, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2. A female entered her apartment and head noises. She confronted an intruder, who said he had damaged her door while making a repair. She left the apartment and contacted police. Property was missing.

Summit Pl., 1700 block, 9:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Oct. 1. An apartment was burglarized.

T St., 200 block, 7:28 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was stolen from a residence entered through the front window.

Tracy Pl., 2300 block, 3 p.m. Sept. 26 to 5 p.m. Sept. 27. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked garage.

Wisconsin Ave., 3200 block, 3 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a residence.

First St., 1700 block, 6:45 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a bathroom window.

Fifth St., 1400 block, 9:45 to 10:15 p.m. Oct. 2. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked rear door.

Fifth St., 6300 block, 1:58 to 3:07 a.m. Sept. 29. A person was arrested after being found hiding in a locked closet in a school.

14th St., 4000 block, 9:25 a.m. Sept. 29. An occupied residence was burglarized.

HOMICIDES

30th St. and Naylor Rd., 7:58 p.m. Oct. 2. Darnell Maurice Howard, 36, of Washington was found on the ground with stab wounds. Howard was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A man, 27, was arrested.

ROBBERIES

Alabama Ave., 2300 block, 4:36 p.m. Oct. 2. A witness saw two people take property from a person at a place of worship. Two arrests were made.

Alabama Ave., 600 block, 5:25 a.m. Sept. 29. Two males approached a male motorist in his vehicle. One pointed a handgun at the motorist and told him to get out. The motorist got out and gave up property from his pockets. The robbers fled in the vehicle.

Alabama Ave., 1400 block, 6:11 p.m. Sept. 29. A group of male youths attacked another male youth. Property was taken, and the youths fled on foot. A police officer who had witnessed the attack chased the youths. Arrests were made.

Alabama Ave., 2800 block, 1:54 p.m. Sept. 27. A male with a gun demanded money from a female clerk in a store. The clerk complied. The robber fled on foot.

Benning and F streets, 2:06 a.m. Oct. 2. A taxi driver picked up two male passengers. When they reached a destination, one of the passengers snatched property from the driver’s hand. The passengers fled on foot.

Congress Pl., 1400 block, 4:30 to 4:37 a.m. Oct. 2. Two people with guns approached a person outside a building and demanded money. The person gave up cash and ran away, injuring an ankle. A gun was fired. No injuries were reported.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 2500 block, 12:30 to 12:33 p.m. Sept. 27. A school employee left an iPad on the ground in a school yard. A robber snatched it and fled on foot.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 2700 block, 3:49 p.m. Oct. 2. A male went into an alley to urinate, and a robber knocked him to the ground and took cash. The robber fled on foot. The male was taken to United Medical Center.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 3100 block, 3:18 p.m. Sept. 27. Three people approached a male at a carryout restaurant, and one punched him. An iPod, a cellphone and cash were taken.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. and Sumner Rd., 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. Oct. 1. A female ran away after an argument with an acquaintance. The acquaintance pushed her to the ground and snatched her cellphone, then punched her in the face.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. and Mellon St., 6 to 6:05 p.m. A pedestrian in an alley asked a person for directions to a friend’s house. While they were walking toward the house, the person took out a weapon and demanded money. Property was taken. The robber fled on foot.

Minnesota Ave., 3600 block, 2:58 a.m. Sept. 29. Two males approached a male as he was entering the rear of an apartment building. One demanded property at gunpoint. The male thought he recognized the robber’s voice and shouted what he believed to be his name. The two robbers fled on foot.

Mississippi Ave., 600 block, 12:45 a.m. Sept. 29. A person reached through the driver’s side window of a vehicle and snatched property from a female’s blouse.

Newcomb St., 500 block, 10:30 p.m. Sept. 30. A person approached the driver’s side of a vehicle, pointed a handgun at a male driver and ordered him to get out. Property was taken. The robber and two others then fled in the vehicle.

Pennsylvania Ave., 700 block, 7:10 to 7:38 p.m. Sept. 28. A person snatched an iPad from a seated Metro passenger. The robber fled onto a station platform and was stopped by three witnesses.

Pomeroy Rd. and Sheridan St., 2:26 to 2:28 p.m. Sept. 29. Two males approached a female who was walking to a Metro station. One grabbed her by the arm while the other snatched her wallet. The robbers fled on foot.

Southern Ave., 2500 block, 9:13 p.m. Sept. 29. Two people, one armed with a handgun, entered an apartment building and approached a person at his apartment door. They demanded property, then entered the apartment. One pointed a gun at a female resident. The robbers took car keys and fled in the woman’s car.

Southern Ave., 2900 block, 11:03 p.m. Oct. 2. Two men approached a female pedestrian from behind and robbed her of property at gunpoint.

Stanton Rd., 2600 block, 1 to 1:12 p.m. Sept. 27. A male was distributing flyers in the first floor of an apartment building. Two men pushed him against a wall. One held a knife to his back and demanded money. Cash was taken. The robbers fled out the rear of the building.

Stanton Rd., 2900 block, 4:30 to 4:35 p.m. Oct. 2. A male youth attempted to flirt with a female at a bus stop. She told him to leave. The youth punched her in the face, then snatched her cellphone and fled on foot.

Texas Ave., 4800 block, 8:46 p.m. Oct. 1. A man demanded a purse from a female pedestrian. The two struggled. The man cut the pedestrian on the wrist and forearm with a knife. She gave up her bag. He hit her face with a shoe. The robber fled on foot. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital.

V St., 1200 block, 9:56 p.m. Sept. 27. Two male youths approached a male pedestrian from behind. One showed a handgun. A cellphone, house keys and cash were taken. The youths fled on foot. Police recovered stolen items near the scene.

11th St., 200 block, 6:54 to 7 p.m. Oct. 2. A male youth on a bicycle approached a female pedestrian and snatched a cellphone from her hand. He fled on the bike.

14th St., 500 block, 9:02 p.m. Sept. 27. A person with a box cutter approached a male pedestrian and took property. The robber fled on foot with two others.

19th St., 1 to 100 block, 10:15 p.m. Oct. 1. A male approached a male pedestrian, grabbed him by the shirt and took a wallet and cellphone. The robber fled on foot.

30th St., 3000 block, 12:45 to 12:50 a.m. Sept. 27. Four men approached a male pedestrian from behind as he was walking from a subway. One put a handgun to the pedestrian’s head, and property was taken.

37th Pl., 300 block, 11:59 p.m. Oct. 1. A male was attempting to buy a drug. Another male showed a gun and demanded property, then struck the male on the head with the gun. The assailant and two male accomplices fled on foot.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Benning Rd., 4900 block, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a residence entered through a window.

Benning Rd., 5000 block, 9:08 p.m. Sept. 30. Two flat-screen televisions, a laptop computer and baseball caps were taken from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

E St., 100 block, 12:01 to 8 a.m. Oct. 1. Property was stolen from a detached garage. There was no sign of forced entry.

Howard Rd., 1500 block, 9 to 9:25 p.m. Sept. 30. A flat-screen television, a DVD player and a container of cash were taken from a residence entered by detaching security bars on a basement window.

Hunter Pl., 2200 block, 7:35 a.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a residence. A screen on a bedroom window was removed, and a front-door latch was damaged.

Malcolm X Ave., 200 block, 1 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a residence entered by kicking a back door.

Mississippi Ave., 1800 block, 9:54 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a residence.

Mount View Pl., 2200 block, 10:15 p.m. Sept. 27. An intruder broke the lock off bars of a bathroom window at a residence, entered a bedroom and attempted to get into a female resident’s bed. She awoke and screamed. The intruder fled through the bathroom window.

T St., 1700 block, 6:30 to 6:34 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was a taken from a residence.

First St., 400 block, 2:53 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing the front door.

First St., 3700 block, 8:30 a.m. Sept. 10 to 8 p.m. Sept. 26. An apartment was ransacked, and property was taken.

Third St., 4000 block, 6:46 p.m. Sept. 27. A television was taken from a residence. A resident was in the process of moving out of the residence, and the television had been the only item left behind. There was no sign of forced entry.

Seventh St., 4300 block, 5:43 a.m. Oct. 1. A female was awakened by two people who arrived at her home. They claimed to be police. When she opened a door slightly, they pushed their way inside. They took money from a coat in a closet and fled.

18th Pl., 2400 block, 12:30 to 7:01 p.m. Oct. 2. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing open a window.

19th St., 1500 block, 9:09 a.m. Oct. 2. A flat-screen television was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked front door.

23rd St., 1900 block, 7 a.m. to 6:21 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a residence.

27th St., 1600 block, 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a residence entered through a kitchen window.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. and Sumner Rd., 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. Oct. 1. A female ran away after an argument with an acquaintance. The acquaintance pushed her to the ground and snatched her cellphone, then punched her in the face.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. and Mellon St., 6 to 6:05 p.m. A pedestrian in an alley asked a person for directions to a friend’s house. While they were walking toward the house, the person took out a weapon and demanded money. Property was taken. The robber fled on foot.

Minnesota Ave., 3600 block, 2:58 a.m. Sept. 29. Two males approached a male as he was entering the rear of an apartment building. One demanded property at gunpoint. The male thought he recognized the robber’s voice and shouted what he believed to be his name. The two robbers fled on foot.

Mississippi Ave., 600 block, 12:45 a.m. Sept. 29. A person reached through the driver’s side window of a vehicle and snatched property from a female’s blouse.

Newcomb St., 500 block, 10:30 p.m. Sept. 30. A person approached the driver’s side of a vehicle, pointed a handgun at a male driver and ordered him to get out. Property was taken. The robber and two others then fled in the vehicle.

Pennsylvania Ave., 700 block, 7:10 to 7:38 p.m. Sept. 28. A person snatched an iPad from a seated Metro passenger. The robber fled onto a station platform and was stopped by three witnesses.

Pomeroy Rd. and Sheridan St., 2:26 to 2:28 p.m. Sept. 29. Two males approached a female who was walking to a Metro station. One grabbed her by the arm while the other snatched her wallet. The robbers fled on foot.

Southern Ave., 2500 block, 9:13 p.m. Sept. 29. Two people, one armed with a handgun, entered an apartment building and approached a person at his apartment door. They demanded property, then entered the apartment. One pointed a gun at a female resident. The robbers took car keys and fled in the woman’s car.

Southern Ave., 2900 block, 11:03 p.m. Oct. 2. Two men approached a female pedestrian from behind and robbed her of property at gunpoint.

Stanton Rd., 2600 block, 1 to 1:12 p.m. Sept. 27. A male was distributing flyers in the first floor of an apartment building. Two men pushed him against a wall. One held a knife to his back and demanded money. Cash was taken. The robbers fled out the rear of the building.

Stanton Rd., 2900 block, 4:30 to 4:35 p.m. Oct. 2. A male youth attempted to flirt with a female at a bus stop. She told him to leave. The youth punched her in the face, then snatched her cellphone and fled on foot.

Texas Ave., 4800 block, 8:46 p.m. Oct. 1. A man demanded a purse from a female pedestrian. The two struggled. The man cut the pedestrian on the wrist and forearm with a knife. She gave up her bag. He hit her face with a shoe. The robber fled on foot. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital.

V St., 1200 block, 9:56 p.m. Sept. 27. Two male youths approached a male pedestrian from behind. One showed a handgun. A cellphone, house keys and cash were taken. The youths fled on foot. Police recovered stolen items near the scene.

11th St., 200 block, 6:54 to 7 p.m. Oct. 2. A male youth on a bicycle approached a female pedestrian and snatched a cellphone from her hand. He fled on the bike.

14th St., 500 block, 9:02 p.m. Sept. 27. A person with a box cutter approached a male pedestrian and took property. The robber fled on foot with two others.

19th St., 1 to 100 block, 10:15 p.m. Oct. 1. A male approached a male pedestrian, grabbed him by the shirt and took a wallet and cellphone. The robber fled on foot.

30th St., 3000 block, 12:45 to 12:50 a.m. Sept. 27. Four men approached a male pedestrian from behind as he was walking from a subway. One put a handgun to the pedestrian’s head, and property was taken.

37th Pl., 300 block, 11:59 p.m. Oct. 1. A male was attempting to buy a drug. Another male showed a gun and demanded property, then struck the male on the head with the gun. The assailant and two male accomplices fled on foot.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Benning Rd., 4900 block, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a residence entered through a window.

Benning Rd., 5000 block, 9:08 p.m. Sept. 30. Two flat-screen televisions, a laptop computer and baseball caps were taken from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

E St., 100 block, 12:01 to 8 a.m. Oct. 1. Property was stolen from a detached garage. There was no sign of forced entry.

Howard Rd., 1500 block, 9 to 9:25 p.m. Sept. 30. A flat-screen television, a DVD player and a container of cash were taken from a residence entered by detaching security bars on a basement window.

Hunter Pl., 2200 block, 7:35 a.m. Oct. 1. Property was taken from a residence. A screen on a bedroom window was removed, and a front-door latch was damaged.

Malcolm X Ave., 200 block, 1 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29. Property was taken from a residence entered by kicking a back door.

Mississippi Ave., 1800 block, 9:54 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a residence.

Mount View Pl., 2200 block, 10:15 p.m. Sept. 27. An intruder broke the lock off bars of a bathroom window at a residence, entered a bedroom and attempted to get into a female resident’s bed. She awoke and screamed. The intruder fled through the bathroom window.

T St., 1700 block, 6:30 to 6:34 p.m. Oct. 1. Property was a taken from a residence.

First St., 400 block, 2:53 p.m. Sept. 28. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing the front door.

First St., 3700 block, 8:30 a.m. Sept. 10 to 8 p.m. Sept. 26. An apartment was ransacked, and property was taken.

Third St., 4000 block, 6:46 p.m. Sept. 27. A television was taken from a residence. A resident was in the process of moving out of the residence, and the television had been the only item left behind. There was no sign of forced entry.

Seventh St., 4300 block, 5:43 a.m. Oct. 1. A female was awakened by two people who arrived at her home. They claimed to be police. When she opened a door slightly, they pushed their way inside. They took money from a coat in a closet and fled.

18th Pl., 2400 block, 12:30 to 7:01 p.m. Oct. 2. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing open a window.

19th St., 1500 block, 9:09 a.m. Oct. 2. A flat-screen television was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked front door.

Georgia Ave., 7400 block, 2:29 p.m. Sept. 30. Lamar Michael Fonville, 29, was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Fonville was pronounced dead at the scene.

ROBBERIES

Arkansas Ave., 4600 block, 1:09 a.m. Sept. 29. A taxi driver picked up a passenger, who then showed a knife, grabbed the driver by the neck and took a wallet and cash.

Euclid St., 1700 block, 8 p.m. Sept. 29. A group of people assaulted a pedestrian.

Georgia Ave., 2900 block, 2:31 p.m. Sept. 27. A male teenager on a bicycle snatched a a cellphone from a female pedestrian while she was using it.

Georgia Ave., 4800 block, 1:08 a.m. Sept. 29. A male entered a vehicle at a drive-through ATM area, then demanded money from the motorist. A struggle ensued, and he cut the motorist several times with a sharp weapon and took cash. The assailant fled in another vehicle.

Georgia Ave., 5400 block, 2:46 a.m. Sept. 29. A group of people approached two pedestrians, who were then assaulted with a wooden stick. One pedestrian was stabbed in the chest and leg, and property was taken from the other person.

Hanover Pl., 1-99 block, 8:25 p.m. Sept. 29. Two people person got out of a vehicle in an alley and approached two motorists in another vehicle. One person opened a door, and the motorists were assaulted. One motorist drove the vehicle from the alley and discovered that his cellphone and wallet had been taken from his pocket during the assault. Arrests were made.

Indiana Ave., 400 block, 2 p.m. Oct. 2. A person was arrested in connection with a police investigation.

Irving St., 1100 block, 9:20 p.m. Sept. 30. A man walked past a pedestrian, then approached him with a handgun and ordered him to empty his pockets. The pedestrian gave up an iPod, a cellphone and cash.

Massachusetts Ave., 1800 block, 8:45 p.m. Sept. 30. Two males approached a person on a scooter, and one showed a handgun. The scooter was taken.

N St., 900 block, 7:16 a.m. Sept. 29. A person approached a pedestrian behind his residence and demanded money. The robber stabbed the person in the chest and fled. Nothing was reported taken.

O St., 1-99 block, 3:28 p.m. Sept. 29. A person pushed a pedestrian against a wall in an alley, then took cash from his pockets. An arrest was made.

P St., 700 block, 8:20 p.m. Sept. 29. A group of male teenagers assaulted and robbed a male pedestrian.

P St., 3200 block, 9:05 a.m. Sept. 27. A person approached a male at a religious institution and asked for money. The male was assaulted after refusing to comply.

S St., 1100 block, 8 a.m. Sept. 30. A person on a bicycle threatened a pedestrian and demanded property. The pedestrian complied.

Spring Rd., 1400 block, 12:01 a.m. Sept. 30. Two men on bicycles approached a pedestrian, then assaulted and robbed him.

Wisconsin Ave., 2200 block, 3:03 p.m. Sept. 28. A person accused a pedestrian of stepping on his foot, then pushed him while another robber stood behind him. The pedestrian later noticed that his wallet had been taken.

Third and R streets, 10:03 p.m. Oct. 2. A man approached a person from behind, put an object to his back, grabbed him by his neck and demanded cash. The person complied.

Fourth and H streets, 2:33 a.m. Oct. 2. A man entered a cab and asked to be taken to a destination. Afterward, he showed a knife and demanded money from the driver.

13th St. and Missouri Ave., 4:15 to 4:28 p.m. Oct. 2. Three people passed a pedestrian, then one snatched the person’s cellphone while he was using it. A witness allowed the pedestrian to use her cellphone to call police. The group was stopped, and an arrest was made. The cellphone was not recovered.

13th and Lamont streets, 2:40 a.m. Sept. 30. A male approached two people from behind, then grabbed one person by her hair, threatened to stab her and demanded property. They both complied.

14th St., 1700 block, 8:51 to 9 p.m. Oct. 1. A male entered a restaurant and snatched money from an employee’s hands.

14th St., 3100 block, 6:20 p.m. Oct. 2. Two people approached a pedestrian while he was listening to his iPod. Property was snatched from his hand. An arrest was made.

15th St., 1300 block, 5:54 p.m. Oct. 2. A male forced a female acquaintance onto the ground, then took property from her bra.

S St., 200 block, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2. A female entered her apartment and head noises. She confronted an intruder, who said he had damaged her door while making a repair. She left the apartment and contacted police. Property was missing.
