HOMICIDES

Eighth St., 1100 block, 3:51 p.m. Oct. 10. Gregory Darnell Troxler, 21, of the District was found on the ground with gunshot wounds. Troxler was pronounced dead at the scene.

ROBBERIES

Benning Rd., 1800 block, midnight to 12:05 a.m. Oct. 5. Two men approached a male pedestrian. One demanded money and forced the pedestrian to the ground. The other robber punched him in the face. The men and two male accomplices took property and fled on foot.

C St., 1400 block, 9:03 p.m. Oct. 8. Two men accosted a male pedestrian and hit him. A cellphone was taken. The robbers fled on foot.

Division Ave., 600 block, 3:20 to 3:24 p.m. Oct. 4. A male pedestrian in Marvin Gaye Park was approached by a male youth who demanded his cellphone. The youth had a weapon. The robber took the cellphone and fled on foot.

E St., 1800 block, 6:15 to 6:20 p.m. Oct. 8. While walking up the front steps of a building, a male felt someone reach into his back pocket. He fell onto the steps. When he turned, he saw someone flee on foot.

Florida Ave., 1-100 block, 2:10 a.m. Oct. 5. A person demanded property from a male. The robber took property and fled on foot. An arrest was made in connection with robbery and possession of marijuana.

Girard St., 1500 block, 12:50 p.m. Oct. 7. A man approached a person at a bus stop and demanded a bag. The man took the bag and pushed the person down. A laptop computer was taken.

Hayes St., 3600 block, 10:25 to 10:29 p.m. Oct. 8. Two male youths approached two female pedestrians and demanded property. The pedestrians struggled with the youths. Both youths showed handguns. Property was taken from the pocket of one pedestrian. The youths fled on foot.

K St., 1-100 block, 12:01 p.m. Oct. 4. A man approached a female and asked for a cigarette, then took property from around her neck and fled on foot.

Minnesota Ave., 3800 block, 2:20 to 2:25 a.m. Oct. 8. A male snatched a purse from a female pedestrian and fled on foot.

Morse St., 1100 block, 7:48 p.m. Oct. 5. A male approached a female pedestrian behind a building and demanded her purse at knifepoint. He lunged at her, and she dropped the purse. He picked up the purse and ran. The pedestrian attempted to stop him. He tried to stab her and a witness who had intervened. A police officer chased him into an alley and stopped him. An arrest was made.

Mount Olivet Rd., 1200 block, 8:04 p.m. Oct. 9. A male was sitting on a motor scooter in a parking lot when a male youth yanked him off the vehicle. He attempted to defend himself, then was surrounded by a group of five to seven male youths. One of the youths fled on the scooter.

New York Ave., 1300 block, 9:11 a.m. Oct. 4. Three people assaulted a male who was waiting for a bus. One pushed him down while the other two took cash from his pockets. An arrest was made.

North Capitol St. and Rhode Island Ave., 9 to 9:38 p.m. Oct. 8. Two men approached a male pedestrian from the side and punched him in the face. He lost consciousness. Cash, a wallet and two Metro farecards were taken. The pedestrian was treated at Howard University Hospital.

P St., 1 to 100 block, 7 to 7:10 a.m. Oct. 5. A male shouted at a male pedestrian. The pedestrian saw that the male had a gun. Property was taken. The gunman fled in a white vehicle.

Quincy St., 700 block. 10:05 to 10:07 p.m. Oct. 5. Two men approached a male pedestrian from behind while a third approached him from the front with a gun. The men took property and fled in a vehicle.

Uhland Terr., 100 block, 6:35 a.m. Oct. 6. A male approached a female pedestrian while she was walking her dog and demanded property from her at knifepoint. When she started calling for help, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her down, causing injuries. Property was taken. The robber fled on foot.

Second St., 1900 block, 7:47 p.m. Oct. 9. A male in a residence had a disagreement with a female about money. She called a male acquaintance. The acquaintance, who had a gun, entered the residence and took cash and a cellphone from the other male.

Fourth St., 2100 block, 9:26 p.m. Oct. 6. Several juveniles approached a male pedestrian and pushed him down. Three of the youths struck him. A BlackBerry, an LG cellphone, a wallet and cash were taken.

10th St. and Michigan Ave., 2:07 a.m. Oct. 6. A male approached a male pedestrian from behind and placed his hands over the pedestrian’s eyes. He demanded a bag from the pedestrian. A male accomplice took a messenger bag and a wallet with bank cards. The robbers fled on foot.

16th and East Capitol streets, 9 p.m. Oct. 6. Two males with handguns approached a male pedestrian from behind and demanded property. An iPhone, an iPod, a black backpack and a passport were taken.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Franklin St., 1800 block, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing open a rear door.

I St., 1100 block, 8:41 a.m. Oct. 6. A purse was taken from a residence entered by throwing a large piece of wood through a basement window.

J St., 5000 block, 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 5. Property was taken from a residence entered by breaking a rear window, unlocking an inner door and breaking the lock of an exterior gate.

Massachusetts Ave., 700 block, 8:20 a.m. to 6:58 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was taken from a basement apartment by kicking and forcing open an interior front door.

Meade St., 4200 block, 9:55 a.m. Oct. 4. A residence was entered by forcing open a rear window and ransacked. Property was taken from an adjacent tool shed entered through a broken side window.

Monroe St., 2600 block, 10:51 a.m. Oct. 5. Cash was taken from a residence entered by removing a window air conditioner.

Montana Ave., 1600 block, 1 to 2:54 p.m. Oct. 5. Property was taken from an apartment. There was no sign of forced entry.

P St., 1-100 block, 1:30 p.m. Oct. 4 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 7. A TV was taken from a residence entered through a broken bathroom window.

Quarles St., 4500 block, 11:50 to 11:55 a.m. Oct. 8. An occupant of a residence opened a door after hearing a knock. Two males entered and went to a bedroom where a male was in bed. They unplugged his Xbox and television. When the resident asked them what they were doing, one grabbed a knife from the TV stand and threatened him. The robbers took the Xbox and television and fled on foot.

Sheriff Rd., 5000 block, 5:24 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was taken from a residence entered by kicking a back door.

V St., 200 block, 11 p.m. Oct. 7 to 1:30 a.m. Oct. 8. Two 32-inch flat-screen TVs, a video game system and a Sony Surround Sound System were taken from a residence entered by removing an air conditioner from a front window.

Walnut St., 3200 block, 11:27 a.m. Oct. 9. A male entered a facility through a window and attempted to remove a TV from a wall. The intruder left through the window. Nothing was reported taken.

West Virginia Ave., 1200 block, 4:41 p.m. Oct. 7. Property was taken from a building.

Sixth St., 700 block, 7:15 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was taken from a residence entered by forcing open a rear door.

18th Pl,, 1200 block, 1:43 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was taken from an apartment entered by forcing a door. Police discovered that the front security door of the apartment building had been forced open.

19th St., 1100 block, 10:05 p.m. Oct. 4. A wallet was taken from an apartment entered through an open rear window.

20th St., 3100 block, 9:53 p.m. Oct. 7. Property was taken from an office building. Police saw a person leaving an adjacent parking garage with stolen property. An arrest was made in the 1400 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE.

21st Pl., 1100 block, 7:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 5. Property was taken from an apartment entered through an unlocked front door.

22nd St., 4000 block, 1:49 p.m. Oct. 5. Property was taken from a residence entered through an unlocked side window.

Northwest
ROBBERIES

Calvert St., 1900 block, 1:05 a.m. Oct 6. A person assaulted and robbed a pedestrian. A witness chased the robber, who dropped a stolen backpack. An accomplice of the robber was seen leaving on a bicycle.

Connecticut Ave., 1700 block, 11:53 a.m. Oct. 5. A male gave a note to a bank teller, then placed a device on the counter and demanded cash. She complied. He threatened to detonate the device if she gave him any dye packs or triggered a security alarm. The robber fled in a taxi.

F St., 900 block, 6:42 p.m. Oct. 6. A man sat behind a female in a restaurant, then placed a jacket over her chair. He was seen moving his hand underneath the jacket before leaving. The female discovered that her wallet had been taken.

Florida Ave., 900 block, 1:15 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7. A group of people approached a female pedestrian from behind, and property was snatched from her hand.

Georgia Ave. and Taylor St., 10:10 to 10:52 p.m. Oct. 9. A man robbed a pedestrian at gunpoint.

Georgia Ave., 2600 block, 11:40 a.m. Oct. 4. Two people entered a convenience store. One showed a handgun and ordered an employee who was in a locked in room to open the door. The intruders forcibly entered the room and took property.

Georgia Ave., 3600 block, 9:34 a.m. Oct. 6. A man approached a female pedestrian from behind, then snatched her purse. She shouted for help, and police chased him. An arrest was made.

Georgia Ave., 5300 block, 4:19 a.m. Oct. 6. A pedestrian was assaulted and robbed of a backpack, cash and a cellphone.

H St., 600 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 6. A person tried to take a wallet from a male’s pocket while the male was leaving a train station. The male grabbed the robber’s hand and detained him until police arrived.

Hamilton St., 200 block, 10:19 p.m. Oct. 5. Two people robbed a person in a building. A weapon was shown.

Holmead Pl., 3400 block, 9:05 p.m Oct. 9. A female met a male at an area, and he drove her to an acquaintance’s apartment building. When they arrived, the male snatched her purse and fled in the vehicle.

I St., 2200 block, 1:08 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7. A wallet was taken from a female’s pocketbook after it had been put on the floor at a restaurant.

Madison St., 1200 block, 12:50 p.m. Oct. 5. A male approached a female in a parked truck and snatched her iPhone. A struggle ensued, and she chased him. She notified police, who searched the area. An arrest was made, and the iPhone was recovered.

Newton St., 1400 block, 1:10 to 1:11 a.m. Oct. 6. A man forced a pedestrian against a fence, then assaulted him and robbed him of property.

O St., 2000 block, 12:55 p.m. Oct. 9. A male snatched property from a female pedestrian’s hand and fled.

Porter St., 2900 block, 12:19 a.m. Oct. 5. A group of males on bicycles surrounded a male pedestrian, then demanded money and a cellphone. He fled. Nothing was reported taken.

Quebec Pl., 700 block, 12:58 a.m. Oct. 8. A man showed a handgun to a pedestrian, ordered him to the ground and robbed him of property.

Rock Creek Church Rd., 700 block, 1:14 to 2:20 p.m. Oct. 8. Two males approached a pedestrian, and one showed a handgun and robbed him of money and other property.

S St., 1700 block, 12:40 p.m. Oct. 8. A pedestrian was looking for a hotel and appeared to be lost. A person approached him and snatched property from his hands.

Shepherd St., 1300 block, 1:01 p.m. Oct. 4. A group of people assaulted a pedestrian, then took his book bag. The bag was recovered in an alley.

T St., 1200 block, 11:29 p.m. Oct. 5. A male approached a pedestrian, cut her purse strap, took the purse and fled in a vehicle.

U St., 1100 block, 1:11 a.m. Oct. 8. A man took a person’s wallet from the person’s pocket. When police approached him, he dropped the wallet.

Water St., 3200 block, 2:08 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Oct. 4. A woman approached a pedestrian using an iPhone to pay a meter and snatched the phone. Secret Service officers stopped a suspect. An arrest was made, and the phone was recovered.

Wisconsin Ave., 2300 block, 5:14 p.m. Oct. 17. Two males asked a pedestrian for money. When he refused, one male grabbed his wrist, choked him and tried to take his watch. The robbers then fled.

Second St., 2000 block, 12:25 p.m. Oct. 7. A gunman wearing a mask threatened to shoot a pedestrian, then demanded her car keys. She complied, and the robber fled in the vehicle with another person.

Third and Gallatin streets, 8:20 p.m. Oct. 8. A person covered a pedestrian’s mouth while an accomplice tried to take property from the pedestrian’s pockets. The pedestrian gave up cash. An arrest was made.

Fourth and Farragut streets, 3:47 to 4:47 a.m. Oct. 7. Two men flagged down a motorist and asked him for a cigarette, then assaulted him and took his vehicle.

Seventh and G streets, 2:30 a.m. Oct. 6. A man robbed a pedestrian of a wallet.

Seventh St., 600 block, 1:36 to 3:15 p.m. Oct. 9. A female approached a female on an escalator at a Metro station, snatched a shoe from her foot and fled with it. An arrest was made.

11th and N streets, 2:24 a.m. Oct. 7. A group of males assaulted a pedestrian and robbed him of cash.

13th and U streets, 1 to 3 a.m. Oct. 7. A male snatched an iPhone from a person in a Metro train, then fled. An arrest was made at another Metro station, and the iPhone was recovered.

13th St.,1900 block, 3:25 a.m. Oct. 6. Two men approached a pizza deliveryman, and one demanded money. He was then assaulted for refusing to comply, and cash was taken from his pocket.

13th St., 6000 block, 12:25 p.m. Oct. 9. A man assaulted and robbed a male at a residential building and fled.

14th St., 4100 block, 7:20 p.m. Oct. 9. A man showed a handgun to a pedestrian and demanded property. He then stabbed the pedestrian in the arm after the pedestrian refused to comply. The assailant then fled.

18th St., 2400 block, 12:18 a.m. Oct. 7. A group of males approached a pedestrian, then two assaulted and robbed him. One was armed with a handgun.

18th St., 2400 block, 11:45 p.m. Oct. 5. Two men robbed a pedestrian of cash at knifepoint.

19th St., 3100 block, 9:47 p.m. Oct. 9. Two men approached a pedestrian while he was using a cellphone, then one showed a handgun. Property was taken.

41st St., 4900 block, 9:08 p.m. Oct. 5. A man got out of a vehicle and demanded money and other property from a female pedestrian. After she complied, he fled in the vehicle.

Allison St., 1100 block, 5:30 a.m. Oct. 6 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked basement window.

Buchanan St., 400 block, 10:13 a.m. Oct. 8. A female heard noises inside her residence and found a male in her living room. She locked herself in a room, and he tried to force open the door. She shouted through a window for help, and two people called police. The intruder fled.

Euclid St., 1200 block, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a window.

Gallatin St., 200 block, 3 p.m. Oct. 5 to 2 a.m. Oct. 6. Property was stolen from a residence entered by kicking a basement door.

Gallatin St., 600 block, 8:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Oct. 9. A TV, a laptop computer and an iPod touch were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

Irving St., 600 block, 1:03 p.m. Oct. 9. A male heard noise in his residence, then saw an intruder run down steps and out a basement door. He then discovered that the intruder had forced open a front porch window and had taken property.

Irving St., 1000 block, 1:07 p.m. Oct. 5. Property was stolen from a residence entered by removing a lock from the front door.

Kennedy St., 400 block, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. A residence was burglarized.

P St., 3000 block, 4:09 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was stolen from a residential garage.

Pennsylvania Ave., 700 block, 5 p.m. Oct. 6 to 8:40 a.m. Oct. 8. An office was burglarized at an office building.

R St., 300 block, 9:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Oct. 4. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a window.

Riggs Pl., 1800 block, 9 p.m. to Oct. 4 to 2 p.m. Oct. 7. An apartment was burglarized.

U St., 1600 block, 10:05 p.m. Oct. 6. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a rear window.

14th St., 2000 block, 10:35 a.m. Oct. 6. Property was stolen from a liquor store entered by cutting a hole in the floor above the store.

14th St., 3900 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 8. A person pried the door of a restaurant, disconnected two security cameras and took money from a cash register.

16th St., 3600 block, 10:17 a.m. Oct. 4. An apartment was burglarized.

16th St., 5600 block, 12:53 a.m. Oct. 6. An intruder entered an occupied residence, used a computer and took property.

19th St., 2100 block, 8:05 a.m. Oct. 4. Property was stolen from a residence entered through the front door.

37th St. and O streets, 5 p.m. Oct. 5 to 8:39 a.m. Oct. 9. Several offices in a suite were pried. Property was stolen.

ROBBERIES

Alabama Ave., 1400 block, 12:02 a.m. Oct. 8. Three males approached a male pedestrian from behind. One of the males showed a large semiautomatic. The pedestrian was robbed of his shoes. .

Barnaby St., 900 block, 7:05 p.m. Oct. 6. Two males approached a man from behind while he was leaving a market. One choked the man while the other took property.

Bruce Pl., 2700 block, 11:57 a.m. Oct. 5. Two people robbed a custodian of property.

Howard Rd., 1400 block, 8:56 p.m. Oct. 4. A female was arguing with a person when the person snatched her phone and ran away. The robber returned to the scene, was identified and arrested.

Jasper St., 2600 block, 12:31 p.m. Oct. 6. A male youth snatched property from a work vehicles passenger seat. The vehicles door was open while the man who was the driver of the vehicle was occupied with work.

K St., 1100 block, noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 4. A male was leaving a housing complex when a person placed him in a chokehold. The person then punched him in the face and removed property from his pants pockets.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 2700 block, 12:41 p.m. Oct. 8. Two males entered a store. One male walked around a counter and displayed a weapon. Money was taken from the cash register, and cellphone was taken from the clerk.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 3100 block, 11:40 p.m. Oct. 5. Four males approached a man. One of the males punched the man in the face. Property was taken.

Stanton Rd., 2700 block, 7:03 p.m. Oct. 4. A male pedestrian was punched in the face. The robber grabbed the mans book bag and asked what was inside it. The man said “nothing.” The robber then searched the mans pockets, unable to obtain property, then fled.

Second St., 2900 block, 9 p.m. Oct. 6. A male and a female fought, and the male took shoes off of the females feet. He then snatched a scarf from her head, punched her and fled.

22nd St., 3300 block, 1:05 p.m. Oct. 5. A male pushed a female acquaintance against a van and snatched her purse. The female chased the male, who threw her purse down and kept her phone.

24th St., 2400 block, 3:23 p.m. Oct. 9. Two males approached a female as she was departing a friends house and snatched property from her.

25th St., 2300 block, 8:19 p.m. Oct. 9. Three people approached a male. One pointed a black handgun at the mans chest and demanded money and his shoes. The gunman then reached into the mans front pants pocket and removed cash. The man then surrendered his sneakers.

37th Pl., 400 block, 10:57 p.m. Oct. 4. Three male youths approached a male and asked him what time a bus was to expected to arrive. The male said he didn’t know. One of the youths then showed a handgun and demanded property. The man complied, and a second youth then reached into his pocket and took property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Astor Pl., 5100 block, 8 p.m. Oct. 7 to 4 p.m. Oct. 8. A residence was entered by removing security bars from a rear patio sliding door and breaking glass. Property was stolen.

B St., 4800 block, 12:01 to 8:29 a.m. Oct. 3. Property was stolen from a residence. The rear door might have been unlocked at the time of the break-in.

Barnaby St., 800 block, 4:45 p.m. Oct. 9. A residence was entered, and property was stolen.

Eaton Rd., 1200 block, 9:45 p.m. Oct. 4. A male knocked on a door of a residence. When a female acquaintance refused to let him inside, he kicked open the door and hit her in the face. He then grabbed her cellphone and fled.

G St., 600 block, 11:56 p.m. Sept. 30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 2. A person entered a detached garage in an unknown manner and stole property.

Massachusetts Av e., 1900 block, 11:01 a.m. Oct. 9. Copper was stolen from a facility entered through a door.

Naylor Rd., 2800 block, 8:30 a.m. Oct. 9 to 10:34 p.m. Oct. 9. An apartment was entered by prying a lock on the front door. The apartment was ransacked, and property was stolen.

Shannon Pl., 2200 block, 8 a.m. Oct. 6 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9. Property was stolen from a residence entered by damaging a window screen.

Stanton Rd., 3400 block, 9 p.m. Oct. 8. Property was stolen from a residence.

Stanton Rd., 3500 block, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9. An apartment was entered through the front door and ransacked. TVs and other electronics where thrown on the floor, clothes were removed from closets, and a large plastic bin containing shoes was found broken. Nothing was reported missing.

21st St., 3500 block, 9:53 p.m. Oct. 4. Property was stolen from a residence entered by cutting a window screen.

METRO INCIDENTS

Maryland Ave., 600 block, 7 p.m. Oct. 7. A male snatched a cellphone from a female while she was waiting on a platform at L’Enfant Plaza Metro station. He fled up an escalator, and she chased him. He returned the cellphone, then tried to run until a witness stopped him. An arrest was made.

Chesapeake St., 100 block, 9:30 a.m. Oct. 4. A group of males robbed a pedestrian of a wallet and other property at gunpoint.

I St., 300 block, 8:40 p.m. Oct. 7. Three males approached a male while he was entering his residence, and one demanded money. They assaulted him after he refused and took property.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 4700 block, 12:05 a.m. A group of people approached a pedestrian, who was robbed of property when a weapon was shown.

Irvington St., 100 block, 3:22 p.m. Oct. 6 to 7:14 p.m. Oct. 7. Property was stolen from an area entered by kicking a door.

M St., 300 block, 7:37 a.m. Oct. 8. Property was stolen from a construction site entered through a locked fence.
