ROBBERIES

Banks Pl., 6200 block, 5:10 p.m. Feb. 7. Two males robbed a male pedestrian at gunpoint, then fled in a waiting vehicle.

Bladensburg Rd., 2800 block, 12:07 a.m. Feb. 12. Two men sprayed a convenience-store clerk in the face with pepper spray, then stole packs of cigarettes. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Constitution Ave., 500 block, 9:10 a.m. Feb. 7. Two male teenagers robbed a pedestrian of cash from her purse at gunpoint.

Douglas St., 3000 block, 8:31 p.m. Feb. 11. A man entered a garage and robbed two people of cash and cellphones at gunpoint. At 8:40 p.m., one of the cellphones was tracked to the 3400 block of Bladensburg Road in Prince George’s County. A 49-year-old man was arrested.

Eastern Ave., 900 block, 4:03 a.m. Feb. 7. A male who implied that he had a handgun in his jacket threatened a pedestrian near a convenience store and demanded her keys. After a brief struggle, he fled empty-handed.

Florida Ave., unit block, 11:45 p.m. Feb. 11. A male teenager snatched a pack of cigarettes from the hand of a man making a purchase at a gas station. When the customer protested, the teenager robbed him of cash at gunpoint.

Foote St., 4900 block, 7:29 p.m. Feb. 12. Three people approached a pedestrian from behind, then robbed him of a gym bag at gunpoint.

Franklin St., 2000 block, 5:30 a.m. Feb. 10. A man entered a residence through a front window, then threatened an occupant and fled with a wallet.

Grant Pl., 3700 block, 9:15 p.m. Feb. 12. Two males followed a pedestrian as he walked toward a residence, then threatened him and robbed him of a cellphone.

Grant St., 4200 block, 9:15 p.m. Feb. 7. Two males threatened a pedestrian and tried to take his wallet, then fled with food that the victim had been carrying.

Maryland Ave., 1500 block, noon Feb. 12. Two people robbed a pedestrian of property from his pockets at gunpoint, then fled to a vehicle driven by an accomplice. Based on a witness description, police made a traffic stop of the vehicle at Independence Avenue and 11th Street. Two people were arrested.

Michigan Ave., 1000 block, 3:44 p.m. Feb. 8. Two male teenagers threatened a pedestrian and robbed her of a purse containing a camera and a tablet computer.

Michigan Ave., 1900 block, 4:36 a.m. Feb. 7. Two males armed with a gun and a baseball bat entered a store through a door that had been opened to receive a delivery truck, while a third male stayed outside and ordered employees to the ground at gunpoint. One worker was led to the office, where he was forced to open the safe. The males fled on foot with cash from the safe.

Minnesota Ave., 3900 block, 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10. A restaurant customer disputing the quality of food and service reached over the counter and took cash from the cash register, then ran from the premises.

Minnesota Ave., 4200 block, 10:01 p.m. Feb. 7. Five people threatened a male teenager walking near a school and robbed him of property.

New York Ave., unit block, 3:20 a.m. Feb. 10. Three men threatened a pedestrian and robbed her of a cellphone.

Ord St., 4400 block, 5 p.m. Feb. 11. A group of five males threatened a pedestrian and robbed her of an iPod.

Rhode Island Ave., 400 block, 9:23 p.m. Feb. 8. A person demanded cash from a pedestrian, then snatched her cellphone and ran way.

First St. and Riggs Rd., 6 p.m. Feb. 12. A male teenager approached a pedestrian from the rear, then knocked her to the ground and fled with property.

Fourth St., 2800 block, 4:20 p.m. Feb. 7. Two men near the entrance to a bike trail threatened a man walking with two dogs and robbed him of his coat.

Fifth St., 1300 block, 4:25 p.m. Feb. 10. A male snatched a cellphone from a table in the cafe area of a grocery store. A passerby saw the victim chasing him and detained the male in the 1300 block of Fifth Street NE. The phone was returned to the victim and an arrest was made.

Seventh St., 4000 block, 6:10 p.m. Feb. 9. Two men threatened a man sitting in a vehicle and robbed him of cash. The victim said that the men did not threaten a female acquaintance with whom he was discussing a business transaction at the time of the incident.

Eighth St., 700 block, 12:19 p.m. Feb. 12. A male approached a pedestrian from behind and grabbed his backpack, then threatened him at gunpoint when he resisted. The male fled down an alley to a waiting vehicle.

Eighth St., 900 block, 9:50 a.m. Feb. 7. A male robbed a pedestrian of his cellphone and cash at gunpoint.

21st St. and Maryland Ave., 10:37 p.m. Feb. 10. A male teenager engaged two pedestrians in conversation, then snatched a cellphone from the hand of one of them while she was using it.

21st St., 800 block, 8 p.m. Feb. 10. Two men got out of a vehicle that had just stopped near a pedestrian, who said that he then was knocked against a fence and robbed of two gold necklaces and cash.

48th Pl., 900 block, 2:35 p.m. Feb. 11. Two male teenagers threatened a pedestrian and robbed her of a cellphone from her hand.

50th and Nash streets, 3:51 p.m. Feb. 11. A man got out of a white van and approached a male pedestrian. Implying that he had a gun in his pocket, the man robbed the pedestrian, then got back in the van, which drove away.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Farragut Pl., 1200 block, 7:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Feb. 12. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking glass in a back door.

Hawthorne Dr., 3000 block, 9:26 to 10:01 p.m. Feb. 11. Property was stolen from a residence entered by smashing a rear window.

K St., 900 block, 3 to 10:45 p.m. Feb. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a kitchen window.

Lee St., 4900 block, between 4:10 p.m. Feb. 7. An attempt was made to enter a location by breaking a rear window.

Maryland Ave., 2100 block, 4 p.m. Feb. 8 to 3 p.m. Feb. 12. Property was stolen from a location entered through a window.

Michigan Ave., 600 block, 8:40 to 10:40 a.m. Feb. 8. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked front door.

Q St., unit block, 3:30 p.m. Feb. 3 to noon Feb. 5. Tools were among property stolen from a residence entered through a basement door.

U St., 100 block, 5 p.m. Feb. 9 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 10. A residence was entered through a basement window. The premises were vandalized.

Third St., 1900 block, 9 a.m. Feb. 7 to 9 a.m. Feb. 12. Property was stolen from an apartment entered by kicking in the front door.

49th St., 1300 block, 12:01 to 12:41 a.m. Feb. 11. Three computers were stolen from an office in a government building entered by breaking glass in a side door.

ROBBERIES

Connecticut Ave., 5200 block, 3 p.m. Feb. 7. Two people threatened and robbed a male pedestrian.

L St., 1700 block, 12:50 p.m. Feb. 8. A wallet was stolen from the jacket pocket of a man purchasing take-out food at a restaurant. An attempt was made to use a credit card from the wallet.

New Hampshire Ave., 1800 block, 8:50 p.m. Feb. 7. A person approached a pedestrian from behind and snatched his cellphone.

Park Rd., 1600 block, 2:40 p.m. Feb. 8. A male approached a man from behind as he was entering his apartment, then robbed him of a bag at knifepoint. The victim followed his assailant and notified police, who made an arrest at the corner of 13th Street and Otis Place NW.

Quebec Pl., 1000 block, 6:16 p.m. Feb. 11. A male approached a female pedestrian from behind and snatched a purse from her shoulder.

Randolph St., 900 block, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8. Two men approached a pedestrian from behind while she was walking towards her car, then pushed her and robbed her of a purse.

Ridge St., 400 block, 8:56 a.m. Feb. 11. A man robbed a student walking near a high school of his sneakers, then fled in a vehicle.

U St., 1100 block, 1:51 a.m. Feb. 9. Two men threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of a cellphone from his hand.

Upshur St., 200 block,8:35 p.m. Feb. 7. A man demanded cash from a convenience-store clerk at gunpoint. The clerk slapped the weapon from the man’s hand and ran out of the store. The gunman fled to an alley in back of the store. The clerk was treated at the scene for a laceration on a hand.

W St., 1100 block, 4:27 p.m. Feb. 8. Two people threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of property.

First St., 4900 block, 6:50 p.m. Feb. 8. A man robbed two pedestrians of a cellphone and other property at gunpoint, then fled with an accomplice.

First St., 4900 block, 3:40 p.m. Feb. 12. A male teenager approached a pedestrian from behind and robbed him of a cellphone at gunpoint.

Fourth St. and Richardson Pl., 8:35 a.m. Feb. 8. A gunman demanded property from a pedestrian in an alley, then walked away empty-handed.

Seventh St., 700 block, 2:30 p.m. Feb. 10. Property was stolen from a purse carried by a female pedestrian.

Ninth St., 1900 block, 3 a.m. Feb. 8. A man confronted an acquaintance outside a nightclub, then forced his way inside her vehicle and grabbed her keys. She fled from the vehicle, and he drove it away. He later called and told her where he had left the vehicle. A cellphone and cash were missing from it, and it had sustained body damage. An investigation was ongoing.

10th St., 1700 block, 2:20 a.m. Feb. 9. A man threatened a female acquaintance and robbed her of property. An investigation was ongoing.

12th St., 1800 block, 7:02 a.m. Feb. 11. A man followed two pedestrians into an alley, then robbed them of wallets and cellphones at gunpoint.

13th St., 2900 block, 4:54 a.m. Feb. 11. A man was given a ride by a woman who said that she was working for a cab service. She immediately stopped and picked up a man who threatened the passenger and demanded property. The victim resisted and threw his backpack out a window. When the vehicle stopped, he fled, leaving his jacket behind.

13th St. and New York Ave., 8:09 p.m. Feb. 8. A man approached a pedestrian from behind and snatched his wallet from a pocket.

14th St., 2700 block, 4:20 p.m. Feb. 10. A male threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of a wallet.

16th St., 3600 block, 10 p.m. Jan. 20. A group of people attacked and robbed a pedestrian. The victim was treated at a hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Georgia Ave., 2900 block, 3:21 to 5:09 a.m. Feb. 10. Money was stolen from a cash register in a store entered by removing an air-conditioner from a window.

Girard St., 1400 block, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8. A laptop computer was stolen from an apartment.

H St., 400 block, between 5:07 p.m. Feb. 7 to 6:05 a.m. Feb. 8. Property was stolen from an apartment.

New Jersey Ave., 1300 block, 10:15 to 11:15 p.m. Feb. 8. A school was entered through a door and an office was entered by breaking glass in a door. After a failed attempt to break into a safe, the intruder moved the safe on a chair with wheels and pushed it out a sixth-floor window. The safe was recovered.

Parkwood Pl., 1300 block, 9:15 a.m. to 9:40 p.m. Feb. 12. Property was stolen from a residence.

Q St., unit block, 7 a.m. Feb. 9 to 11:59 p.m. Feb. 10. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a back door.

Quincy St., 800 block, noon to 10:17 p.m. Feb. 8. Property was stolen from an apartment. There was no sign of forced entry, and an occupant said that keys recently had been misplaced.

R St., 200 block, 5:09 p.m. Feb. 11 to 11 a.m. Feb. 12. Coins were stolen from a machine broken into at a business. There was no sign of forced entry to the premises.

Rhode Island Ave., 1600 block, 7:56 a.m. Feb. 7. Tools were among property stolen from a construction site entered by cutting a lock on a fence.

Shepherd St., 1300 block, 7 p.m. Feb. 6 to 7 a.m. Feb. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

T St., 900 block, 3:45 p.m. Feb. 11. An occupied residence was entered through a window. Police responding to a call from the home detained a person leaving through the front door. An arrest was made.

Van Ness St., 2900 block, 6:48 a.m. Feb. 7. An occupied apartment was entered through a sliding-glass door. A male intruder fled empty-handed when confronted.

11th St., 3100 block, 8 p.m. Feb. 8 to 1:17 a.m. Feb. 9. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked basement door.

17th St., 1500 block, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 12. Property was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked window.

17th St., 1700 block, 4:37 p.m. Feb. 11. Property was stolen from an apartment entered through an unlocked bedroom window.

18th St., 2200 block, 4:34 a.m. Feb. 12. Property was stolen from a nightclub entered by breaking a front window.

HOMICIDES

Buena Vista Terr., 3100 block, 5:18 p.m. Feb. 10. James Edward Dean, 19, of Washington, was found on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

ROBBERIES

A St., 4400 block, 11:18 a.m. Feb. 12. A man was threatened and robbed by a male in the apartment of an acquaintance for whom he had just performed a maintenance task.

Chicago St., 1100 block, 4:05 p.m. Feb. 7. A male demanded cash from a pedestrian at gunpoint, then fled emtpy-handed when the victim said that he didn’t have any.

Douglass Rd., 2600 block, 8:07 p.m. Feb. 7. A group of four male teenagers threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of a bag.

Elvans Rd., 2400 block, 11:38 p.m. Feb. 12. A man forced his way into an acquaintance’s apartment and said that he was looking for his cellphone. He then fled with two laptop computers.

Fendall and V streets, 8:08 p.m. Feb. 8. Four male teenagers attacked a pedestrian and robbed him of property. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained when he was knocked to the ground during the incident.

H St. and Southern Ave., 11:02 p.m. Feb. 11. Two men robbed a pedestrian of her cellphone and headphones at gunpoint.

K St., 1300 block, 9:30 p.m. Feb. 10. A man threatened a pedestrian and robbed him of property from his pockets. During a struggle, the victim fell to the ground. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Minnesota Ave., 2400 block, 8:40 p.m. Feb. 11. A male robbed a pedestrian of his cellphone at knifepoint. A short time later, a male was arrested in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The phone was recovered and a knife was confiscated.

Naylor Rd., 2600 block, 6:17 p.m. Feb. 12. A group of six male teenagers threatened a male and a female and robbed her of a cellphone from her hand. She was treated at the scene for a laceration.

Skyland Pl., 2400 block, 3:49 p.m. Feb. 10. A group of five male teenagers attacked a male who had been arguing with one of them. They robbed him of property from his pockets, then ran away.

Eighth St., 400 block, 8:35 a.m. Feb. 11. A man ordered food in a restaurant, then passed a threatening note that demanded cash. When the server refused to acknowledge the note, he grabbed his food order and fled the premises.

53rd and C streets, 12:17 a.m. Feb. 7. A group of four male teenagers robbed a person of wallet at gunpoint.

ROBBERIES

L St., 200 block,10:05 p.m. Feb. 12. After driving to this location to meet with an acquaintance, two men were told by a pedestrian to go to the back of a residence, where one of them was attacked by a person armed with a sharp object and robbed of a cellphone and a wallet. The victim was treated for lacerations at the scene.

Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., 4700 block, 8:35 p.m. Feb. 11. Two men robbed a male pedestrian at gunpoint.

Fourth St., 1100 block, 9:45 p.m. Feb. 12. A person snatched property from a pedestrian’s hand.
