A petition on the White House’s “We the People” Web site asks President Obama to grant federal workers Christmas Eve off. The petition asserts that the gesture would boost morale in the face of the pay freeze and attacks upon workers during the national elections.
Presidents on occasion, including Obama, have granted time off during the holiday season. Is a petition the way to go, or does it leave the workforce open to more criticism? Should extra time off be granted?
