A flood of problems
After two major storms in the past five years caused excessive flooding to more than 160 homes alongside the Cameron Run tributary, Fairfax County is again considering building a 15-foot-high levee to address the problem. But $30 million must be raised to construct it, and past efforts to secure funding have failed. The community is divided about whether to wait for a solution or sell their properties to developers interested in building high-rises near the Huntington Metro station. Read related article.
