Declining morale, steady commitment?
As a Washington Post story noted last week, “salary freezes, tight budgets and a dim view of federal work held by many Americans” have contributed to declining morale among federal workers. What remains among the workforce, according to the Employee Viewpoint Survey, is a passion for their jobs and a belief that the work is important. How do you explain such a dichotomy? Is it possible to have low morale and maintain passion and high performance?
