Discrepancies in travel records
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority — which oversees Reagan National and Dulles International Airports and the Dulles Metrorail construction project — is supported by airport revenues, state and federal money. The quasi-public entity’s 13-member board of directors attend meetings in Washington and industry conferences abroad — all travel expenses paid for by MWAA. During the first two quarters of 2011, board members spent more than $97,000 for airport-related meetings that included trips to Hawaii and Italy. Read related article.
