A District man was arrested Friday and charged with killing a 56-year-old by strangling and stabbing him.
Police said they arrested Alex Jerome Cater, 31, of Northeast, on Friday, charging him with second-degree armed murder in the December 31 killing of Leroy Studevant.
Police went to the 4200 block of Hunt Place NE about 7:30 a.m., December 31, for a report of an unconscious male near a creek. They found Studevant close to the Anacostia Freeway.
Studevant was later pronounced dead, and his death was ruled a homicide by the chief medical examiner’s office.
