Closing and merging schools in the District

D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson has proposed the closure of 20 schools throughout the District, citing low enrollment as the reason for consolidation. Roosevelt and Cardozo high schools would absorb MacFarland and Shaw middle school enrollment and expand their grade levels from ninth through 12th to sixth through 12th. Read related article.
