District releases school-by-school DC CAS results

July 31, 2014

D.C. officials released summary results of annual standardized tests Thursday morning, but just as interesting to many parents and policymakers are the results of individual schools.

School-by-school results, posted here, show a wide variation in performance among both traditional and charter schools.

Drew Elementary, for example, saw an astonishing 34-point gain in math and an 18-point gain in reading. Tubman Elementary saw the opposite trend: a 24-point decline in math and a 14-point loss in reading. Langley, C.W. Harris and Bruce Monroe at Park View elementaries also saw double-digit declines in both subjects.

Among charters, D.C. Prep’s Benning campus, Friendship Collegiate Academy and Hope Community-Lamond all saw double-digit increases in both subjects. Charters that saw equally large decreases in both subjects included Community Academy’s Butler Global campus, Roots and Booker T. Washington.
