Does your child go to a ‘hopeful’ school in Montgomery County?

July 18, 2013

Montgomery County schools is working with polling firm Gallup to measure hope, engagement and well-being among students. Educators and experts say that students who possess these social and emotional qualities do better in school and are more likely to do well in college and their future careers.

Montgomery County students took the Gallup Student Poll for the first time in October 2012, with school officials aiming to use results from the coming school year to measure trends for the first time.

Here is a look at the most and least hopeful schools based on data from 2012. The Gallup poll measures hope on a 1-5 scale, with five being the highest.

More detailed individual student results — including data on engagement and well-being — are available here.
