Laptops stolen from new Dunbar High

August 26, 2013

Thieves broke into the District’s new Dunbar High School and made off with three laptop computers over the weekend, school system officials said Monday.

The offenders broke a window to enter the new $122 million building, dedicated by Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) in a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.

School system spokeswoman Melissa Salmanowitz said she is confident that the Dell computers, which are equipped with tracking devices, will be recovered. Security captured images of the thieves and police recovered fingerprints, she said.
