Fairfax County

The following incidents were reported by the Animal Control Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Dog in good condition: Adolphus Dr., 14000 block, 8:45 p.m. Oct. 4. Animal control officers, investigating a dog welfare complaint, found a healthy 9-month-old pit bull terrier in good condition. The dog’s owner, a Centreville man, was charged with not having a dog license.

Dog bites woman: Corcoran St., 4200 block, 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6. A stray pit bull terrier attacked a woman’s pit bull and bit her when she attempted to separate the dogs.

Dog bites cyclist: Barcarole Ct., 8000 block, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10. A loose German shepherd bit a woman’s leg as she rode a bicycle.

Fairfax City

The following incidents were reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the police department’s main page.

Sickly cat: Stonewall Ave., 4000 block. Someone reported seeing a sickly cat in a neighbor’s front yard. The elderly cat was thin and appeared to have an open growth on its stomach. The owner said the cat had been missing for several days.

Cat adoption event: Fairfax City’s Animal Control Division will hold a cat adoption clinic at the Town and Country Animal Hospital, 9836 Fairfax Blvd., Fairfax, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. 703-385-7919.

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Stray dog: Park and McHenry streets, SE, 12:21 a.m. Oct. 5. A woman found a dog and took it to police headquarters. The dog was taken to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and its owner identified.

Stray dog awaits owner: Highland St. NW, 500 block, 2:35 p.m. Oct. 6. A large black dog was taken to the Fairfax County animal shelter to await retrieval by its owner.

Barking dogs: Drake St. SW, 1200 block, 5:14 p.m. Oct. 11. Someone reported that a neighbor’s barking dogs were an ongoing problem. The owner agreed to take the dogs inside.
