Fairfax County

The following incidents were reported by the Animal Control Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Dog bites pedestrian: Spring Oak Ct., 10600 block, 1:45 p.m. Nov. 3. A brown brindle pit bull bit a person. The owner, a Burke woman, was charged with no license and no rabies vaccination. The dog was placed under quarantine. Minor injuries were reported.

Deer jumps through windows: Celtic Dr., 5100 block, 8:45 a.m. Nov. 3. A man walking his dog on a path startled a deer, which jumped through three apartment windows and fled. Someone in an apartment received minor injuries. The deer could not be found.

Fairfax City

No reports were received from the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the police department’s main page.

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Dogs fights with raccoon: Woodland Ct. NW, 500 block, 11:15 a.m. Nov 7. A male reported that his dogs had been in a fight with a raccoon. The raccoon was taken to the Fairfax County animal shelter to be tested for rabies.

Dog on the run: Center and Mill Streets N, 9:11 a.m. Nov. 3. A person reported a dog running loose in the area. Animal control found the dog, which didn’t have identifying information. The dog was taken to the Fairfax County animal shelter, where it will be held until the owners can be identified.
