The following incidents were reported by the Animal Control Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. For information, call 703-246-2253.

Dog bites man: Havenwood Pl., 3800 block, 9:05 a.m. April 26. A 2-year-old pit bull terrier got away from her owner and bit a man, who was not seriously injured. The dog was placed under quarantine.

Stray bites woman: Friendship Ct., 10200 block, 7:15 p.m. April 30. A gray tabby bit a woman, who began rabies treatment as a precaution. Officials are searching for the stray cat.

Fairfax City

The following incidents were received from the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the police department’s main page.

Dog at large: Wilson St. and Norman Ave., April 29. A West Highland terrier, found running in the neighborhood, was taken to the city’s shelter. The dog’s owner claimed him.

Puppy bites woman: Main St., 9400 block, April 27. A woman said a puppy bit her. The puppy was placed under quarantine for 10 days.

Howling cat disturbs hotel guests: Chain Bridge Rd., 3500 block, May 2. A hotel manager reported that a stray cat in the parking lot was howling at night, disturbing guests. The cat was captured and taken to the city’s shelter.

Vienna

The following incident was reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Cat bites hospital employee: Park St. SE, 100 block, 11:18 a.m. April 13. A cat bit an animal hospital employee during a procedure. The cat tested negative for rabies.
