FAIRFAX CITY

The following incidents were reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the police department’s main page.

Dog bite: Brookwood Dr., 3400 block, Oct. 27. A dog bit his owner’s friend. The hound mix had a current rabies vaccination and was quarantined at home for 10 days.

Loose puppy: Stratford Ave. and Chain Bridge Rd., Oct. 22. A puppy was running in the neighborhood. The hound pointer mix was taken to the city’s shelter.

Hamster bites worker: Fairfax Blvd., 10700 block, Oct. 23. A hamster bit a pet store employee.

Loose dogs: Forest Ave. and University Dr., Oct. 31. Two dogs were running in the area. They were taken to the city’s shelter, where their owner claimed them.

VIENNA

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

Injured cat: Patrick St. SE, 100 block, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 25. Animal control was called about an injured cat. The cat was taken to a clinic for treatment but died.

Injured deer: Cherry and Park Streets SE, 9:51 p.m. Oct. 26. Animal control was called about an injured deer in the middle of the road. The deer died.
