FAIRFAX CITY

The following incidents were reported by the animal control section of the Fairfax City Police Department. For information, call 703-385-7924 or go to www.fairfaxva.gov and click on “Animal Control” on the police department’s main page.

Contented bunnies: Wilcoxson Dr., 3900 block, Jan. 4. Responding to a caller’s complaint of neglect, animal control found two rabbits with adequate food, water and shelter.

Dog’s escape ends: Carolyn Ave., 3900 block, Jan. 6. A man reported that he had caught a dog running loose and took it to an address listed on its collar ID. The man found a basement door opened by the wind and secured the dog inside the home. Animal control contacted the dog’s owner, who was issued a warning.

Dog makes a ruckus: Main St., 10100 block, Jan. 6. An animal control officer, responding to a report of a barking dog left out in the cold, spoke to an individual in the home about keeping the dog inside.

Vienna

The following incidents were reported by the Vienna Police Department. For information, call 703-255-6396.

No IDs or owner found: Roberts Dr. NW, 600 block, 1 p.m. Dec. 30. An animal control officer picked up two golden retrievers that were running loose and took them to the shelter.

Dog nips woman: Counsellor Dr. NW, 9600 block, 12:20 a.m. Dec. 31. A woman reported that her mother’s dog had bitten her on the lip. An animal control officer contacted the mother, who lives out of state, and informed her of the quarantine process.

Dog’s owner located: Holmes Dr. and Lawyers Rd. NW, 3:15 p.m. Jan. 5. A woman surrendered a stray dog to the Vienna Police Station.

Dog snarled and bit: Park St. SE, 100 block, 9 a.m. Jan. 6. An employee was bitten by a dog while attempting to perform a medical procedure.
