Fair Lakes Shopping Center, 13000 block, 3 a.m. Sept. 15. A man in a vehicle in a parking lot opened the door and exposed himself to a woman walking to her car.

Stringfellow Rd., 4600 block, Sept. 12. A man exposed himself to a 46-year-old woman walking in a park.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cedar Forest and Post Forest Drives, A cellphone was stolen from a business.

Audubon Ave., 7900 block, Sept. 15. Two men, one with a gun, struck a male pedestrian who fled with minor injuries.

Janna Lee Ave., 7900 block, 11:30 p.m. Sept. 17. A group of three to four men assaulted a 27-year-old male pedestrian and when he attempted to run, he was shot in the lower body.

Monticello Rd., 5800 block, 9:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Two men approached an 18-year-old female pedestrian from behind and grabbed her purse.

John Tyler Ct., 4500 block, 11:30 p.m. Sept. 16. A group of men assaulted a 20-year-old male pedestrian and took personal property and cash from him.

Majestic Lane, 4000 block, 10:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Two men assaulted an 18-year-old male pedestrian and took cash and personal property from him.

Rectory Lane, 7800 block, 1:30 a.m. Sept. 14. A group of men assaulted a 22-year-old man as he exited a convenience store and took cash and personal property from him.

Commons Dr., 4700 block. A cellphone and a laptop computer were stolen from a residence.

Dina Leigh Ct., 6800 block. Watches and cash were stolen from a vehicle.

ASSAULTS

University Dr., 4000 block, 10:25 a.m. Sept. 16. A man got into an argument with his boss; the boss grabbed him by the neck and held a knife to his face. A 41-year-old Fairfax City man was charged with malicious wounding and abduction.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cavalier Ct., 11100 block, 11 p.m. Sept. 14 to 1 p.m. Sept. 15. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle.

Daniels Run Way, 10000 block, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 12 to 8:08 a.m. Sept. 13. Cash was stolen from the center console of an unlocked vehicle.

Draper Dr., 3100 block, March 1 to Sept. 13. A business owner reported that an employee paid herself for unauthorized overtime and mileage and opened an unauthorized charge account in the owner’s name. The investigation is continuing.

Dwight Ave., 10100 block, Virginia St., 4100 block, Walters Ct., 4000 block, 7 p.m. Sept. 12 to 2:42 p.m. Sept. 13. Six unlocked vehicles were entered and searched. An iPod, a GPS device, an E-Z pass and merchant reward cards were stolen from four of the vehicles.

Fairfax Blvd., 10300 block, 12:29 Sept. 11. A woman’s debit card number was used to make unauthorized purchases.

Fairfax Blvd., 9400 block, 5 p.m. Sept. 2 to 3:47 p.m. Sept. 14. A bicycle’s lock was cut and the bicycle was stolen from a building storage room.

Fairview Dr., 3900 block, 9 a.m. to 11:46 p.m. Sept. 15. Prescription medication and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

Jermantown Rd., 3900 block, 11:56 a.m. Sept. 11. A person’s payroll check sent from Texas was intercepted and cashed.

Jermantown Rd., 3900 block, 9:13 p.m. Sept. 11. A man grabbed two cartons of cigarettes from a counter in a convenience store and fled without paying.

Maple St., 10900 block, 12:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 17. A fig tree was stolen from a front yard of a residence.

Old Lee Hwy., 3200 block, Aug. 3, Aug. 10 and Sept. 6. Cash was stolen from a safe in an office at a homeless day center.

Old Lee Hwy., 3900 block, Sept. 9. A cellphone left in a dental office was stolen.

VANDALISM

Fairfax Blvd., 10800 block, midnight to 12:30 a.m. Sept. 16. A window of a motel room was broken.

Old Lee Hwy., 3900 block, 10 p.m. Sept. 11 to 7 a.m. Sept. 12. Graffiti were spray-painted in a parking lot.

HOMICIDES

Wilson Blvd., 6700 block, Sept. 14. Police, responding to a report of a fight and shots fired, found the body of a man in a parking lot. Phuoc Huu Nguyen, 35, suffered from at least one gunshot wound and a cut on his face.

Broad St. E., 100 block, Sept. 8. A shotgun was stolen

Pennsylvania Ave., 300 block, Sept. 10. Four tires were stolen from a vehicle.

Mill St. NE, 400 block, 11:15 a.m. Sept. 13. The owner of a hardware store assaulted a man delivering goods to the store. A 54-year-old Great Falls man was charged with assault.

Windover Ave. NW, 400 block, 8 a.m. Sept. 13. An employee at a construction site reported being pushed by another employee during an argument.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cottage St. SW, 900 block, 8:37 a.m. Sept. 13. A person paid for merchandise with a counterfeit check. The incident is under investigation.

Elm St. Sw, 100 block, Sept. 13 to Sept. 16. An air conditioning unit was stolen from a house under construction.

Maple Ave. E., 200 block, 4:39 p.m. Sept. 13. A woman attempted to cash a check that had been “washed” and rewritten with a new amount and name. A 23-year-old District woman was charged with forgery, uttering and attempting to obtain money by false pretenses.

Maple Ave. W., 100 block, 11:56 a.m. Sept. 19. Credit cards were stolen from a woman’s wallet.

Moorefield Creek Rd. SW, 900 block, 1 to 10:28 a.m. Sept. 15. A woman found her front door slightly ajar when she awoke in the morning. Her purse, car keys and cellphone were missing.

Niblick Dr. SE, 600 block, Sept. 11 to Sept. 13. Pry marks were found on the door, handle and frame of French doors at a residence. Entry was not gained.

Park St. NE, 300 block, 9 a.m. Sept. 13. A front license plate was stolen from a vehicle.

West St. NW, 400 block, 9 a.m. Sept. 11. A package, delivered to a residence, was stolen.

Windover Ave. NW, 200 block, 12:30 to 1 p.m. Sept. 14. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence.
