ASSAULTS

Main St., 10500 block, 12:48 a.m. Dec. 8. Several people approached a 34-year-old man from behind in a restaurant restroom and punched and kicked him. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Pickett Rd., 3900 block, 4:02 p.m. Dec. 8. A male, responding to an Internet ad for a cellphone, met the seller in a parking lot and gave him cash. After looking at the phone, he decided he did not want it and asked for his money back. The seller displayed a knife and fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Fairfax Blvd., 9800 block, Dec. 5. A credit card was stolen from a customer at an animal hospital and was used later to make purchases. A 21-year-old Fairfax woman was charged with credit card theft and credit card fraud.

Fairfax Blvd.,10400 block, 4:25 a.m. Dec. 6. A wallet containing cash, keys and a debit card, was stolen from a table in a restaurant.

Oak St., 3900 block, May 2012 to Dec. 2013. A person’s identifying information was used to open several charge accounts. Charges were made on the accounts in Florida.

Main St., 10400 block, 11:30 p.m. Dec. 6 to 7:22 a.m. Dec. 7. Tobacco products and calling cards were stolen from a business.

Madison Mews, 3900 block, 12:01 p.m. Dec. 8. A package, containing clothing that was delivered and left on a doorstep, was stolen.

VANDALISM

Chain Bridge Rd., 4200 block, 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 to 9:39 a.m. Dec. 6. The bulbs and fixtures used for temporary lighting in a garage area under construction were damaged.

Broad St. W., 1200 block, Dec. 8. A man took merchandise from a grocery store. A 42-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with shoplifting.

Marshall St. W., 200 block, Nov. 26 to Nov. 27. Two coolers were stolen from outside a residence.

VANDALISM

Cottage St. SW, 1000 block, noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 10. A woman found a 3-4 inch gash in the rear of her vehicle.

Ware St. SW, 700 block, 10 p.m. Dec. 5 to 8:34 a.m. Dec. 6. A BB pellet was shot through a window screen and the first pane of a double-glass window of a residence.
