ROBBERIES

Lockheed Blvd., 3400 block, 1 a.m. April 6. Two males approached two pedestrians and demanded money. The pedestrians attempted to flee, and the robbers gave chase. One of the two males assaulted the two pedestrians with a machete, and one was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Richmond Hwy., 6300 block, 6:44 p.m. April 6. A man entered a department store and displayed a gun to an employee, took cash and fled.

Richmond Hwy., 6300 block, 10:16 a.m. April 7. Two men approached a female as she was going to her car. One man implied that he had a weapon. The two men took cash and fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Colony Rd., 9500 block, 3:07 p.m. April 4. Two residents received a call from a female claiming to be their youngest granddaughter. The caller said that she had been arrested and needed them to send money for her bail. A second female got on the phone, claiming to work in the bail bond office. The victims sent money and were contacted again to send more money. They later learned that the granddaughter had been at home with her mother.

Fairfax Blvd., 10400 block, 11 p.m. March 22 to 4:16 a.m. March 23. A battery tester was stolen from a vehicle parked at a service station.

Main St., 9400 block, 12:19 p.m. March 30 to April 1. Cash and a cellphone were stolen from a retail wireless store March 30. An employee was charged with embezzlement.

Main St., 10400 block, 5 p.m. April 5 to 12:18 a.m. April 6. A wheel was stolen from a parked vehicle.

Park Rd., 11000 block, 8:34 a.m. April 2. An abandoned building was entered and damaged.

Maple Ave. W., 100 block, 1:42 p.m. April 8. A 72-year-old man was arrested in connection with the theft of merchandise from a store.

Melody Lane SE, 100 block, noon to 3:40 p.m. April 7. A resident reported that prescription pills were missing after a guest had visited her home.

VANDALISM

Cedar Lane SW, 100 block, 1:27 p.m. April 10. A student punched a hole in a wall.

Church St. NE, 300 block, 11:05 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 8. A mailbox post was damaged.
