Summit Manor Ct., 4200 block, 1:20 a.m. April 17. A resident reported a man looking in the window of a ground-floor apartment. The man fled before police arrived.

Fair Oaks Shopping Center, 11900 block. Cash was stolen from a location.

Carol Lane and Holly Hill Dr., 4:04 p.m. April 23. A male youth robbed two female teenagers of their phones.

Leesburg Pike, 6100 block, 7:30 p.m. April 20. Two male youths approached a woman at knifepoint and demanded her phone. The two fled on foot and were caught a short distance away by police.

Little River Tpk., 7300 block, 11:34 a.m. April 22. A man approached a woman from behind while she was entering her vehicle. The man took cash and fled.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Fairfax Blvd., 10900 block, 11:46 a.m. April 18. A Miami Beach man, 57, was arrested and charged with failing to re-register with the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry after a police officer responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at a store.

ASSAULTS

Fairfax Blvd., 10000 block, 12:55 a.m. April 19. A police officer attempted to interrogate an intoxicated man, who resisted and provided false information. A Centreville man, 18, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on an officer, obstruction of justice, providing false identification to law enforcement and public drunkenness.

Main St., 9600 block, 10 a.m. April 19. A man punched another man in the mouth during a fight at a basketball game in a gym. An Annandale man, 45, was arrested and charged with assault and battery after leaving the scene.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Ardmore Pl., 4200 block, 11:57 a.m. April 16. Personal information taken during a theft from a vehicle in February 2013 was used to open credit card accounts and make unauthorized purchases.

Armstrong St., 10400 block, 1:45 p.m. April 21. Copper drain piping was stolen from the side of an apartment building.

Breckinridge Lane, 10400 block, 9:22 p.m. April 17. A male claiming to be a Fairfax County deputy sheriff phoned a resident and claimed that the resident had missed multiple court dates for jury duty and would need to obtain a money card to pay a bond fee and told the resident to meet him at the courthouse. The resident called police.

Chain Bridge Rd., 3600 block, 5:53 p.m. April 19. Two copper downspouts were stolen from the guest house of a residence.

Charles Dr., 10800 block, 3:15 p.m. April 22. A group of males purportedly in Jamaica called a resident on two occasions and told him he had won a large sum of money but would first need to obtain a money card and provide its information before he could receive his winnings. The resident did not give any information and later called police.

Main St., 9600 block, 3:52 p.m. April 16. Four females took merchandise from a store without paying.

Main St., 10800 block, 3:18 p.m. April 21. A male stole an unsecured bicycle in front of a store. The theft was witnessed by the bicycle’s owner. A police officer recovered the bike at a bus stop in the 9900 block of Main Street.

Poplar St., 4000 block, 9:31 p.m. April 20. A male claiming to be a Fairfax County deputy sheriff phoned a resident and claimed that she had missed jury duty and that there was a warrant for her arrest. He told her she would need to call him back with a money card number to get the warrant lifted. The resident did not provide the information and called police. The calls were traced to Lagos, Nigeria.

VANDALISM

Lee Hwy., 11100 block, 8:37 a.m. April 16. Graffiti were spray-painted on a concrete barrier behind a business.

Main St., 9500 block, 5:18 p.m. April 21. A vehicle was scratched.

Wilcoxson Dr., 3900 block, 1:06 p.m. April 18. A window was shattered on a parked vehicle.

Willard Way, 10300 block, 10:44 p.m. April 17. A man hit and dented a car. The owner saw the man walk to a nearby business. A Springfield man, 23, was charged with destruction of property and public drunkenness.
