Coleraine Ct., 12300 block, 8 a.m. Sept. 10. Responding to report of a break-in, an officer encountered a woman standing in the road. After she refused a request to get out of the way, she was arrested. During her arrest, she kicked the officer. A 64-year-old Reston woman was charged with assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Surrey Hill Pl., 5800 block, 3:40 a.m. Sept. 8. Responding to a report of a loud party near a swimming pool, police arrested a man found skinny-dipping with two juveniles. A 35-year-old Springfield man was charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, public drunkenness and trespassing.

INDECENT EXPOSURE INCIDENTS

Heritage Dr. and Heritage Woods Way, 1:10 p.m. Sept. 7. A man got out of a vehicle and exposed himself to a pedestrian.

Broughton Craggs Lane, 8300 block, 9 a.m. Sept. 10. Two backpacks containing electronic equipment were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked front door.

Main St., 10100 block, 9:02 p.m. Sept. 6. A male grabbed a 20-year-old acquaintance and pushed her toward a busy street. A 19-year-old Springfield man was charged with assault and battery.

Chain Bridge Rd., 3500 block, 8:16 a.m. Sept. 2. Soap was stolen from a restroom at a gas station. A man being questioned about the incident gave police a false address. An 18-year-old Centreville man was charged with petty larceny and obstruction of justice.

Fairfax Blvd., 9400 block, May 20. A male used an employer’s credit card to make an unauthorized purchase.

Fairfax Blvd., 10900 block, 11 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Sept. 5. A GPS device was stolen from a vehicle left at an auto dealership for servicing.

Fairfax Blvd., 11900 block, 1:27 p.m. Sept. 11. A large quantity of parts was missing from a business. A 33-year-old Potomac Falls man was charged with felony embezzlement.

Main St., 9600 block, 7:15 p.m. Sept. 7. A bottle of after-shave lotion was stolen from a store. A male was seen fleeing with the property.

Main St., 9600 block, 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 30. An MP3 player was stolen from a window ledge near a basketball court at a fitness center.

Main St., 10600 block, Aug. 27. A discharged employee took tools from a business and failed to return them.

University Dr., 3900 block, Sept. 1. A debit card left in a restaurant was used to make unauthorized purchases.

University Dr., 3900 block, 11:42 p.m. Sept. 8. A male stole a 10-pack of beer from a convenience store, then fled in a vehicle driven by an accomplice.

University Dr., 4000 block, Sept. 7 to Sept. 10. An attempt was made to cash a fraudulent check at a bank. The check had been stolen from a desk at a business. An investigation is continuing.

Willard Way, 10300 block, 3:46 p.m. Sept. 5. A male stole beer from a grocery store.

VANDALISM

James Swart Cir. and Quick Lane, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 11. A vehicle window was broken.

Lyndhurst Dr., 3900 block, 10 p.m. Sept. 4 to 10 a.m. Sept. 5. The paint finish of a vehicle was scratched on both sides.

Timber Lane, 300 block, Sept. 5. A vehicle body was damaged by a sharp-edged object.

Wilson Blvd., 6700 block, Sept. 10. An attempt was made to enter a business by breaking glass in a door. Nothing was reported missing.

Cedar Lane SE, 100 block, 1:50 p.m. Sept. 12. A teacher was attacked as she was trying to escort a disruptive student from a classroom. A student was charged with assault of a schoolteacher.

Maple Ave. E., 300 block, 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10. A man grabbed a woman by the arm as she was getting into a vehicle, then let go of her arm and walked away.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Maple Ave. E., 400 block, 1:40 p.m. Sept. 13. Two females stole two bottles of rum from a liquor store. When confronted by a store employee, they surrendered one of the bottles, then left before police arrived.

Sharon Lane NW, 100 block, 12:01 a.m. Aug. 29 to 2:17 p.m. Sept. 8. A Social Security number and a credit card belonging to the same individual were used fraudulently.

West St. NW, 400 block, 9 a.m. Sept. 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 2. An attempt was made to enter a residence by damaging a lock to a back door. Access to the property was gained by removing a lock from a fence gate. Nothing was reported missing.

VANDALISM

Center St. N., 300 block, Aug. 18 to Sept. 11. Locks on three gates at a power sub-station were cut. Nothing was reported missing.
