Gemini Ct., 6200 block. A license plate was stolen from a vehicle.

Hunters Branch Rd., 2900 block, 3:10 p.m. Sept. 10. Cash and a video game system were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a basement window.

Luria Commons Ct. and Biland Commons St. Construction equipment was stolen from a vehicle.

Markham St., 4300 block. Laptop computers were stolen from two vehicles.

Nomis Dr., 4100 block. Tools were stolen from a vehicle.

Old Keene Mill Rd., 8400 block. A wallet containing credit cards was stolen from a vehicle.

Old Oaks Dr., 8100 block, 5:25 a.m. Sept. 11. A man who entered an occupied residence fled empty-handed when confronted.

Uxbridge Ct., 8300 block. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle.

Westover Ct., 8500 block. Two pairs of shoes and a cellphone were stolen from a residence.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Hollow Knoll Ct., 6000 block. A 2013 Kia SUV was stolen.

ASSAULTS

Main St., 10100 block, 9:02 p.m. Sept. 6. A male grabbed a 20-year-old acquaintance and pushed her toward a busy street. A 19-year-old Springfield man was charged with assault and battery.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Chain Bridge Rd., 3500 block, 8:16 a.m. Sept. 2. Soap was stolen from a restroom at a gas station. A man being questioned about the incident gave police a false address. An 18-year-old Centreville man was charged with petty larceny and obstruction of justice.

Fairfax Blvd., 9400 block, May 20. A male used an employer’s credit card to make an unauthorized purchase.

Fairfax Blvd., 10900 block, 11 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. Sept. 5. A GPS device was stolen from a vehicle left at an auto dealership for servicing.

Fairfax Blvd., 11900 block, 1:27 p.m. Sept. 11. A large quantity of parts was missing from a business. A 33-year-old Potomac Falls man was charged with felony embezzlement.

Main St., 9600 block, 7:15 p.m. Sept. 7. A bottle of after-shave lotion was stolen from a store. A male was seen fleeing with the property.

Main St., 9600 block, 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 30. An MP3 player was stolen from a window ledge near a basketball court at a fitness center.

Main St., 10600 block, Aug. 27. A discharged employee took tools from a business and failed to return them.

University Dr., 3900 block, Sept. 1. A debit card left in a restaurant was used to make unauthorized purchases.

University Dr., 3900 block, 11:42 p.m. Sept. 8. A male stole a 10-pack of beer from a convenience store, then fled in a vehicle driven by an accomplice.

University Dr., 4000 block, Sept. 7 to Sept. 10. An attempt was made to cash a fraudulent check at a bank. The check had been stolen from a desk at a business. An investigation is continuing.

Willard Way, 10300 block, 3:46 p.m. Sept. 5. A male stole beer from a grocery store.

VANDALISM

James Swart Cir. and Quick Lane, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 11. A vehicle window was broken.
