A former teacher at Evangel Christian School in Dale City has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a young female student more than 30 years ago, according to Prince William County police.
The former teacher, Karold Stallard, 77, of the 1400 block of Forest Spring Lane in Earlysville, Va., has been charged with one count each of rape and forcible sodomy, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of indecent liberties by a custodian, police said in a news release. The crimes were allegedly committed between 1982 and 1987.

The misdemeanor assault trial for Christopher Hollosy is expected to begin in D.C. Superior Court.
The pair, known in Chinatown, tried to pay public officials in order to get licenses for a new taxicab company.
The incident happened in the Queens Chapel area of Northeast DC.
The victim, who was 12 years old in 1982, reported the incidents to police last week, authorities said.
The girl’s family had gone to school officials with the allegations in the 1990s, but they were not reported to police, said police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
In the 1990s, the school conducted its own internal investigation and later fired Stallard, Perok said. Although failure to report such a crime is a misdemeanor offense, such a charge cannot be pursued because the one-year statute of limitations has passed, Perok said.
A representative for Evangel Christian School could not immediately be reached Tuesday.
Stallard was arrested in Albemarle County on Monday, and he is being held without bail. A court date was not immediately available.
