Health code violations

These food establishments were closed because of health code violations. The list, compiled from health department reports, reflects actions taken by the departments.

Correction: The food services at an Exxon station, 5030 Connecticut Ave. NW, were incorrectly listed as closed for failure to obtain a certified food inspector card. The facility was not cited and was undergoing a renovation.

THE DISTRICT

Dean and DeLuca

3276 M St. NW

Closed Feb. 6 for gross unsanitary conditions, including vermin. Reopened the next day.

Epiphany Open Pit Beef and Subs

4128 Georgia Ave. NW

Closed Feb. 5 for operating without a license. Reopened last Thursday.

Marvin Restaurant

2007 14th St. NW

Closed Feb. 5 for failure to minimize insects, rodents and other pests. Reopened the next day.

MARYLAND

Nectar Lounge and Grill

7926 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring

Closed Feb. 6 because of sewage system overflow and no hot water. Reopened that day.

Plaza Newsstand

51 Monroe St., Rockville

Closed Jan. 31 for operating without hot water. Reopened Friday.

VIRGINIA

No new closings were reported.
