How giant panda cubs grow

Mei Xiang, a giant panda at the National Zoo, surprised everyone Sunday night by giving birth to a cub. Mei Xiang began exhibiting behavioral signs of pregnancy over Labor Day weekend, and zoo officials conducted ultrasounds. The tests were inconclusive. Here’s how a panda cub grows.
