How do I call for help if 911 isn’t working?
The 911 center should be working and has an emergency generator in case outages occur. If the 911 center is not available, residents can call (301) 475-4911.
When will my trash be picked up?
The county does not perform trash collection. The public works department does clear downed tress, but it is suspended until the storm is over. For more information, call (301) 475-4911.
Are schools closed?
St. Mary’s County Public Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday. For more information, visit www.smcps.org.
Who do I call if my power is out?
To report an outage, call (877) 747-6326. To report a downed power line or other emergency situations, call (888) 440-3311.
Where are local shelters?
There are two pet-friendly evacuation shelters: Great Mills High School, (21130 Great Mills Road, Great Mills, and Leonardtown High School, 23995 Point Lookout Road. For more information, call (301) 475-4911.
