Jetty pledged for Tangier Island harbor

Virginia and federal officials announced Tuesday that they plan to build a $4.2 million jetty to protect the harbor, which they hope will be completed by 2017. Tangier Island has significantly eroded over the decades, and its harbor has been left more vulnerable to damage from waves and ice. (Read related article)
