Monday is Labor Day, which means some trains and buses won't operate or will offer limited service. Here's what you need to know for getting around.

— Most banks.

— All federal government offices.

— Post offices: No mail delivery except for Express Mail.

— Courts: Except for adult arraignments and new juvenile referrals in the District.

TRAFFIC AND PARKING

— District: No city parking enforcement except in National Stadium neighborhood.

— Maryland: Meters not enforced in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, except for New Carrollton garage, National Harbor and the Prince George’s Department of Corrections. Meters enforced in Howard County and Annapolis.

— Virginia: HOV restrictions lifted. Meters not enforced in Alexandria and Arlington County.

TRASH AND RECYCLING

— District: No collection; pick-ups slide to the next day through the end of the week. Transfer station closed.

— Maryland: No collection. In Anne Arundel and Montgomery counties, pick-ups slide to the next day. In Prince George’s County, pick-ups are on the next regularly scheduled day. Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Frederick and Howard landfills and Montgomery transfer station closed..

— Virginia: Regular pick-up in Arlington and Fairfax counties. No collection in Alexandria or Fairfax City; pick-up slides one day. Landfills closed in Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William counties.

LIQUOR STORES

— District: Open at owner’s discretion.

— Maryland: Open.

— Virginia: Open.

SCHOOLS

— District: Closed.

— Maryland: Closed.

— Virginia: Closed.

LIBRARIES

— District: Closed.

— Maryland: Closed.

— Virginia: Closed.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICES

— District: Closed.

— Maryland: Closed.

— Virginia: Closed.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

— Metrorail will run on a Sunday schedule from 7 a.m. to midnight. Because of track work, shuttle buses replace trains on the Red Line between Forest Glen and Rhode Island Avenue stations and Orange Line trains will run every 24 minutes between Vienna and New Carrollton stations.

— Metrobus will run on a Sunday schedule.

— Metro Access has regular service but subscription calls are canceled.

— Ride On, DASH and Fairfax Connector will run on Sunday schedule.

— CUE will run on a Saturday schedule.

— ART will run routes 41 and 51 only, on a Sunday schedule.

— PRTC Omiride, Loudoun Bus, MARC and VRE will not be running.

— MTA Commuter Bus will run Route 201 only, on a weekend schedule.
