ASSAULTS

Ayr Hill Ct., 22000 block, 7:45 p.m. Aug. 10. A Purcellville man, 19, was charged with assault. Police said that it was a domestic incident.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Ashburn Shopping Plaza, 44100 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 14 to 3 a.m. Aug. 15. Property was stolen from a moped compartment entered by damaging a lock.

Augustine Pl., 43200 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 13 to 9 a.m. Aug. 14. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Carters Station Ct., 22900 block, 2:35 p.m. Aug. 14. An attempt was made to enter a residence by damaging a back door.

Downingtown Ct., 43900 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 to 5:30 a.m. Aug. 14. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Hollyberry Ct., 20900 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 11 to 8:45 a.m. Aug. 12. An MP3 player was among property stolen from four parked vehicles.

Meadow Sage Dr., 42400 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 5 to 11:59 p.m. Aug. 6. A Global Positioning System device was among property stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Rising Moon Pl., 42300 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 14 to 6 a.m. Aug. 15. Coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Runnymeade Terr., 20900 block, 1 p.m. Aug. 12 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13. Tools were stolen from a vehicle.

Summithill Ct., 43200 block, 8 p.m. Aug. 9 to 1:30 a.m. Aug. 10. A Global Positioning System device and sunglasses were among property stolen from two unlocked vehicles in an open garage.

Urbancrest Ct., 43900 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 13 to 5:15 a.m. Aug. 14. An unlocked vehicle was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

Willowdale Pl., 19700 block, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 13 to 7:15 a.m. Aug. 14. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage.

Demerritt St., 43000 block, 3 a.m. Aug. 14. A bicycle was stolen from a porch.

VANDALISM

Mandolin St., 42400 block, 3 a.m. Aug. 11. The exterior of a house was damaged by paint pellets.

Pine Forest Dr., 42500 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 9 to 7:15 a.m. Aug. 10. Two vehicles were damaged by spray-paint.

STERLING AREA

ASSAULT

Fillmore Ave. N., 100 block, 12:40 a.m. Aug. 13. A male approached a motorist as she got out of her vehicle, grabbed her and forced her back inside. As he held her down on the back seat, she screamed, and he fled in a sky-blue older-model car.

PEEPING TOM INCIDENT

Courtyard Sq., 46900 block, 1:45 a.m. Aug. 15. Someone looking through a window at a residence fled when confronted by an occupant.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cascades Pkwy., 21500 block, 4:30 p.m. Aug. 9 to 4:30 a.m. Aug. 10. Air conditioners were stolen from two businesses.

Community Plaza, 46900 block, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12 to 3 p.m. Aug. 13. Two air conditioner s were stolen from a building.

Felsted Ct., 300 block, 10:47 p.m. Aug. 11. A residence was entered through a sliding-glass door. Nothing was reported missing.

Mirror Ridge Pl. and Carriage Ct., 2:07 a.m. Aug. 15. A male trying to enter vehicles by opening doors fled empty-handed when confronted.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Thrush Rd., unit block, 9 a.m. Aug. 10 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 11. A Jeep Liberty was stolen. The vehicle was recovered in the District, where it was involved in a crash. Police said that the motorist fled the scene on foot.

VANDALISM

Church Rd. W., 800 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 15 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 16. Copper pipe was damaged on an air conditioner at a business.

Community Plaza, 46900 block, 11:30 p.m. Aug. 12 to 1 p.m. Aug. 13. Copper pipe was damaged on two air conditioners outside a business.

Harry Byrd Hwy., 46800 block, 2 p.m. Aug. 12 to 9 a.m. Aug. 13. Three air conditioners were damaged.

Woodland Rd., 45800 block, 11:15 a.m. Aug. 16. Copper pipe was damaged on an air conditioner at a business.
