ASHBURN AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Belgreen Dr. and Powder Horn Ct., 43000 block, 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 9. Checks were stolen from mailboxes.

FRAUD

Barnstead Dr., 43000 block, 10 a.m. Sept. 7. A resident got three calls from someone identifying himself as a Leesburg sheriff’s office employee. He said that there was an arrest warrant issued against the resident and that the resident had missed a court appearance. He said the resident could take care of it with a “green dot” card.

Pine Brooke Ct., 41000 block, 9 p.m. Sept.6. A resident got a call from someone identifying himself as a Leesburg sheriff’s office employee. He said that there was an arrest warrant against the resident and that he could take care of it with a “green dot” card.

Tithables Cir., 21000 block, 4 p.m. Sept. 6. A resident got a call from someone identifying himself as a Leesburg sheriff’s office employee. He said that there was an outstanding bench warrant against the resident and that she must obtain a “green dot” card to pay it off.

BRAMBLETON AREA
ASSAULTS

Ryan Rd., 42000 block, 5 p.m. Sept. 6. Two males and a female assaulted someone and punched the person in the head.

FRAUD

Pine Forest Dr., 42000 block, 3 p.m. Sept. 5. A resident got a call from someone identifying himself as a Leesburg sheriff’s office employee. He said that there was a warrant out for an arrest and that the resident must pay a fine with a “green dot” card.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Corkgrass Cir., 41000 block, 9 p.m. Sept. 6. A man entered a residence through an unlocked basement door during a gathering of young adults. The man said he was a police officer. He demanded all the alcohol and then left.

Edwards Ferry Rd., 800 block, 10:04 p.m. Sept. 8. Threats were reported.

Waterview Plaza, 46000 block, 11 a.m. Sept. 10. A man left a bag containing electronics outside a hotel and carried other bags inside. When he returned, the bag was gone.

FRAUD

Yorktown Ct., 10000 block, 1 p.m. Sept. 7. A resident got a phone call from someone identifying himself as an employee of the Leesburg sheriff’s office. He requested that the resident pay a fine with a “green dot” card.
