PEEPING TOM INCIDENT

Verde Gate Terr., 22700 block, 9:58 p.m. Dec. 18. A resident returning home saw a man looking through a window of the home. The man ran away after being confronted.

Otis Lane, 42700 block, noon to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 9. A garage door at a residence was damaged.

Edwards Ferry Rd., 800 block, 6:51 p.m. Dec. 13. A domestic assault was reported.

Fort Evans Rd., unit block, 5:41 p.m. Dec. 12. A domestic assault was reported.

Fort Evans Rd., 600 block, 7:02 p.m. Dec. 14. Threats were reported.

Harlow Sq., 19200 block, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 16. A resident received a phone call from someone implying that the call was from the IRS. The caller said the resident owed back taxes and had to pay a fine or face a court hearing. The resident was asked to pay several thousand dollars by using money cards. After providing several thousand dollars to the caller, the resident realized the call was a scam. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the incident.

Market St. E., 500 block, 7:54 a.m. Dec. 18. Threats were reported.

Catoctin Cir., 200 block, 10:50 a.m. Dec. 12. Fraud was reported.

Currant Terr., 500 block, 9:52 a.m. Dec. 16. Fraud was reported.

Edwards Ferry Rd., 200 block, 7:46 p.m. Dec. 12. A theft was reported.

Edwards Ferry Rd., 900 block, 1:45 p.m. Dec. 16. Shoplifting was reported.

Edwards Ferry Rd., 1000 block, 4:05 p.m. Dec. 17. Shoplifting was reported.

Fairview St., 200 block, 11:35 a.m. Dec. 17. A theft was reported.

Adams Dr., unit block, 3:07 p.m. Dec. 14. A vehicle was reported stolen.

John S. Mosby Hwy., 36100 block 4:30 to 7:43 a.m. Dec. 18. Jewelry was stolen from a residence. There were no signs of a forced entry.

STERLING AREA

ASSAULTS

Route 7 and City Center Blvd., 10:25 p.m. Dec. 18. During a traffic altercation, a motorist displayed a gun while talking to another driver. The man with the gun wore a black baseball hat and had tattoos on his arm. The vehicle was described as a dark-color Ford F-150.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Aspen Ave. N.,100 block, Dec. 10 to Dec. 11. A parcel was stolen from a home.

Biscayne Pl., unit block, 1 to 6 a.m. Dec. 15. Sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Howard Pl., unit block, 5:26 p.m. Dec. 17. A resident received a phone call from someone who implied that the call was from the IRS. The caller said there were warrants out for the resident’s arrest and that the resident must pay money. The resident realized the call was a scam.

Oakdale Ct., unit block, 10 p.m. Dec. 13 to 6 a.m. Dec. 14. Christmas decorations were stolen from outside a home.

Tanglewood Way, 20500 block, 4 a.m. Dec. 15. Cash and a laptop computer case were stolen from a vehicle.

Vernon St. N., 800 block, 3:51 a.m. Dec. 17. A woman entered the home of an acquaintance by damaging a door. A Sterling resident, 30, was charged with unlawful entry and destruction of property.

VANDALISM

Dickenson Ave. S., 1000 block, Dec. 18. Hearing a car alarm, a resident investigated and found that a vehicle window had been damaged.

Huntington Sq., 21200 block, 9:26 a.m. Dec. 12. Exterior walls of an apartment complex were damaged by graffiti.
